Springback, an elastic material recovery after the unloading of stamping tools, causes variations and inconsistencies of final part dimensions. The higher the tensile strength of steel sheets goes up, the larger the springback of them occurs. Recently, automotive industry has given much more attention to high-strength steel sheets in order to obtain high fuel efficiency and impact safety. To reduce springback of steel sheets, upform method is proposed. Its main concept is to strike the end of steel sheets normally during stamping process. The feasibility of upform method is verified by stamping analysis of side sill inner panel using PAMSTAMP 2G. The portotype sample panel is made by press steel die and the analysis data is compared with the measurement data of 3D CMM.

In recent years, laser-arc hybrid welding has begun to be adopted for assembly welding of automotive bodies and parts, because hybrid welding process can weld lapped steel sheets that have a lager pap than is possible with laser welding. But if the gap is wide, burn-through occurs, and, if the gap is excessive, the two sheets cannot be welded together. For this reason, the gap is very important for hybrid welding. In this paper, to predict the twist deformation by hybrid welding when brackets are welded in B pillar of passenger car, the residual stress using CAE is analyzed and the deformation results of CAE is compared with welded panel.
자동차 웨더스트립 심재 경량화를 위한 강선(Steel Wire)의 소성변형 연구

The automotive weather strip has the functions isolating of dust, water, noise and vibration from outside. The core of weather strip is made of steel with stiffness. By using the wire formed as the core of weather strip, weight can be reduced as much as 35% by comparing with existing steel core. For this reason, forming wire is necessary to keep the zigzag shape as it is. The deformation which is occurred during forming process can be predicted and it can be used in case of manufacturing dies through CAE. In this paper, rolling process conditions are deduced and the springback amount is predicted after rolling process by using the simulation. The springback amount of product is measured by using optical microscope, and measurement result is compared with the simulation result of springback as the same condition. The suitable gap between dies to compensate springback after rolling process is predicted through simulation and it is used for manufacturing dies.

Sandwich composite panel with high strength steel face can reduce the weight of the automotive structural parts. Unlike the parts in aerospace application, the automotive parts are made by the forming process for mass production. The CAE simulation can predict the failures caused by forces and deformation during the forming process. Since the material properties are very important factor for the simulation, we performed the tensile test to get the material properties. The inspections by the optical microscope at each strain level show the states of the polymer resin. The material properties measured by the tensile tests are used for the input data of simulation. The simulation predicts the forming process of the bumper back beam very exactly compared with the try out results.
Sub Pad를 이용한 도어 외판 핸들부 주위 미세면굴곡 저감

Surface deflections are generally occurred in door outer handle area or fuel injection area where the shape of its section is changed suddenly. Usually, their basic cause is compressive stress occurred in forming process because of different touching time between die and panel. Surface deflection amounts can be reduced with sub pad which is pressing down around handle area prior to forming concave door handle. New die structure with it is developed and applied to minimize surface deflection amounts through the forming analysis, springback analysis, comparison of surface deflection amounts depending on the parameters and analysis of distances between sub pad and punch depending on padding forces. To analyze effectively surface deflection occurred around door outer handle area, die of door outer panel is manufactured partly containing door handle area. And to determine its proper size, the preceding investigation is executed through the simulations. To compare surface deflection amounts with typical dies and suggested dies with sub pad, simulations according to the process of surface deflection analysis are executed and then 3D scanning is preformed with stamping panel to verify effect of sub pad.

본 논문에서는 인터넷에서 가상세계를 구현하는 표준 언어인 VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language)을 사용하여 가상 세계를 구축하고 이를 안내시스템에 적용하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 VRML 규약에 대해서 고찰을 하고, VRML과 JavaScript를 이용한 웹 기반 가상 안내 시스템의 구현 방법에 대해 상세히 설명하였다. 그리고, 시스템의 구현을 통해 얻어낼 수 있는 효과와 구현 과정에 발생된 문제점과 개선방법 및 앞으로의 연구방향에 대해 기술하였다. In this paper, we propose a method of implementing a virtual reality information desk using VRML and Internet. We review about VRML which can construct a virtual world on the Internet. Next, we explain a basic concept and implementation details of a web-based virtual reality information desk. VRML and JavaScript are used to implement the system. Finally, the advantages of the developed system and the future research directions are described also.
