The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of respiratory capacity and rectus abdominis muscle in children with cerebral palsy(CP) before/after respiratory training using an expiratory belt and postural adjustment.Five children with CP practiced diaphragmatic breathing three times a weeks for four weeks using an expiratory belt to strengthen respiratory muscles with postural changes: 1)supine, 2)sitting on the floor, and 3)sitting on the chair.The results indicated that no statistical significance was found although there was a slight increase in the vital capacity of the subjects in the study. However, the function of rectus abdominis muscle from electromyogram was significantly improved.
