This test evaluates noise characteristics of a torque converter for different types of drive plates. The torque converter consists of the hydrodynamic clutch device and the lock-up clutch device. This prat is connected directly between an engine and an automatic transmission for the high efficiency and the low fuel consumption. Engine and torque converter are combined by a flexible drive plate, and engine power is passed to an automatic transmission. By applying different types of drive plates of torque converter, we can be found a change of the noise characteristics. As a result, the torque converter with the drive plate optimization is good for noise reduction.
드라이브 플레이트의 고속 회전 시험 후 소성변형 예측에 관한 연구

Recently, concerns about optimum design with the CAE analysis are rising in a Automotive industrial. The CAE is given a great deal of weight on the design process and the growing dependence on CAE could result in increasing the number of CAE engineers in Automotive Industrial. In this study a drive plate is analyzed to predict the number of appropriate welding beads at 7,00rpm, 8,000rpm, 9,000rpm, the result is presented as a basis for optimum design. By analyzing the drive plate, it is predicted whether the Sender Drive Plate which generate the output waveform of crank angle sensor deforms plastically or not. According to analysis results and test results it is found that the plastic deformation could be occurred at all range on 6 places weld, at 8,000rpm on 9 places weld but it could not be occurred at all range on 12 places weld. Therefore the number of appropriate welding beads is more than 9.

A torque converter consists of the hydrodynamic clutch device and the lock-up clutch device. The lock-up clutch connects directly between an engine and an automatic transmission for the high efficiency and the low fuel consumption. Recently, lock-up clutch is changed slip control instead of on-off control. The slip control of lock-up clutch is necessary for the better fuel economy. But slip control of lock-up clutch system has high thermal resistance and durability problem. The lock-up capacity and cooling flux are very important for solution of high temperature and durability. This test evaluates noise characteristics by the cooling hole of the slip controlled torque converter.

Friction plate which is main torque transfer element in lock-up clutch system is made of wet friction material that is consisted of synthetic fiber. Factors that decide characteristics of friction material are material composition, surface of steel plate, ATF oil and control condition. Particularly, ATF volume capacity is a important factor for friction characteristics and durability of friction material. The analysis of friction and wear characteristics of friction plate is investigated by using LVFA machine. This study provides applicable ATF Volume capacity for lock-up clutch system.

This paper discussed deformation of torque converter at lock-up mode. It was mainly verified by high spin experiment, so this paper made an attempt to analyze high spin experiment by structural analysis. To analyze high spin experiment, 1/4 FEM model was made. And, cyclic symmetry condition and pressure included the centrifugal force were used. By analysis results. it showed that analysis results agree with experiment results at less than 3000rpm. And, because of plastic deformation at more than 3000rpm, analysis results make a difference with experiment results.

Recently, Electric bike is being spotlighted because that is environmentally friendly forms of transport with low noise, low pollution as well as convenience for use. BLOC Motor mainly used for electric bike due to high efficiency and high torque characteristics. But, The structure of BLOC motor produces vibration and cogging torque because of reluctance according to rotating the rotor. The cogging torque is caused by unbalance torque according to permanent magnet in a motor. As a result, it is difficult to ride electric bike comfortably because of vibration, noise. For these reasons, The motor for electric bike must have low cogging torque characteristic design. This paper compared the effect of pole/slot combination on the cogging torque and back-emf waveform between conventional and new models which are analyzed by FEM(Finite Element Method).

A Torque converter expansion or the internal motion is the design point which is important in the internal pressure and rotation speed which operates to the torque converter. We did confirm the expansion and internal motion which it follows in the internal pressure and rotation speed which operates at lock-up clutch of the torque converters with a finite element method.

Due to the environmental pollution and exhausted resources, these days, a research is in progress to find renewable energy which will substitute or reduce using of fossil energy. To correspond with HEV has been developing actively. Regenerative braking is widely applied for fuel efficiency improvement, stability of vehicle and reducing energy in HEV. This paper demonstrate the superiority of brake and regeneration in low-speed(5㎞/h), middle-speed(10㎞/h) and high-speed(15㎞/h), applying the regenerating system which widely used to HEV to electric bicycle. The efficiency is confirmed using Microchip"s dsPIC30F6015 by controlling 300W BLDC motor with recognized the electric bicycle.

Lock-up clutch of a torque converter in an automatic transmission directly transmits the engine power to the transmission in order to achieve a more fuel economy. Damper spring, a core part of lock-up clutch system, makes the powertrain system stabilized by reducing the fluctuation torque of any engine system when lock-up clutch is operated. In addition to that, this part helps the improvement of total vehicle systems by increasing spring characteristic in aspects of the design facilities. To analysis the dynamic hysteresis of damper springs, numerical simulation has been carried out using DAFUL, a dynamic analysis commercial code. Preliminary test has also been conducted to assess the dynamic behavior of damper springs. The results of analysis and test are discussed in view of the dynamic simulation of damper springs.
