The purpose of this study is to understand a wide range of Korean men's eating behavior including their participation in the process of preparing food at home. The method used in this study involved five hundred questionaires distributed among male subjects of twenty years old and above in the Taegu area. Four hundreds and eight responses were analyzed. The results of the questionaires are as follows : 1. As to the level of eating habits consciousness, nuclear families and big city dwellers scored higher than those who lived in the medium-sized cities, fishing, agrarian, and mountain villages. 2. Those who were in their age of 20s, and their income 「below 300,000won」 maked the lowest score on eating behaviors. Those who were in good health and those who had recognition of 「Most imporant」 of eating habits, had better eating behaviors. 3. The average score of the whole subiects for eating behaviors was 60.63, while that of eating consciousness was 77.81. 4. Regarding the four procedures, i. e., planning menu, grocery shopping, cooking, and dish washing, above 61% of the subjects responded 「Men can do it if necessary」 and above 52% 「Actually do it often」. 5. Those who thought 「Men should not participate in preparation of food」 did not participate in actual food preparation. while 40% of respondents who answered 「Have to do regardless of sex」 actually participated 「allways」. 6. Those who answered 「Men can do it if nesessary」 participated in the case of 「when wives were sick, away, or delivering babies」 , 「Mountain climbing, fishing, family picnics」.
