집단 의사결정을 위한 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 인터페이스 제안 : 그룹대화 이용행태를 중심으로

모바일 인스턴트 메신저(Mobile Instant Messenger, MIM) 어플리케이션의 사용자가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 스마트폰의 대중화로 PC와 웹을 기반으로 사용되어왔던 인스턴트 메신저가 모바일 환경에서 활발히 이용되고 있다. 기존의 인스턴트 메신저와 마찬가지로, MIM의 기본 기능은 일대일 대화지만 사용자들은 그룹 대화나 의사결정, 협업 등에도 이를 활용한다. 그러나 현재의 MIM는 기본 기능인 대화를 중심으로, 전통적인 turn-taking 방식의 순차적인 대화 인터페이스만 제공하고 있다. 따라서 사람들은 MIM에서 지원되지 않는 집단의사결정 행동을 스스로 만들어낸 규칙이나 방법으로 해결하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 과업 분석과 인터뷰를 통해 기존의 MIM 이용 행태를 분석하고, 이를 통해 도출된 개선 요소를 반영한 프로토타입을 제작한다. 그리고 프로토타입에 대한 사용 실험을 통해 새롭게 제안된 인터페이스 개선 요소들에 대한 검증과 평가를 진행한다. The number of users for Mobile Instant Messenger(MIM) is rapidly increasing. As smartphone starts to become a commodity, instant messengers are getting popular on the mobile devices. Obviously, the key function of MIM is 'conversation' which is not different from the instant messengers in the past. But, it is not used only for the one to one conversation, but also for the g roup chatting, decision making, and collaboration. However, present MIMs mainly provide the one to one conversation interface which has been traditionally considered as serial turn-talking method which leads some users to find solutions by themselves to satisfy their needs. This paper suggests new Mobile Instant Messenger interface which was derived from the observation and analysis about behavior of MIM users. The research also includes task-based User test and interview in order to analyze the behavior of users. From these results, working prototype of new user interface war suggested, and finally, new features obtained from the user test were assessed and evaluated.
