A study on seizure test results with several types of phosphating on differential bevel gear proposes to control the specification of factors for phosphating which are the color, the crystalline texture, the grain size, the thickness, the uniformity, the pickling mark and the adhesive property, especially the crystalline texture, the grain size and the uniformity are the high priority. As a result of the study on seizure test results with several type of phosphating, this paper clarifies the specification of factor for phosphating on differential bevel gear.

A study on the effect of tooth overlap occurring in the manufacturing process on the result of the seizure test. In the case of bevel gear with tooth overlap, the seizure test was not passed even if the design target was satisfied and in the case of no tooth overlap the seizure test was passed. Through the destructive inspection of product, the mold aging and raw material heat treatment condition is the main cause of overlap problem. Through this study, it was confirmed that there was no abnormality in the current bevel gear design target, and whether the design target was satisfied according to existence of tooth overlap.
