A diesel engine is one of the major prime movers owing to its high thermal efficiency. But due to the recent attention for the environmental pollution, the emissions of diesel engine became a important problem. So it is needed to understand the characteristics of diesel spray injected into a combustion chamber. The characteristics of diesel spray have effect on the engine performance such as power, fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore, This study was performed to investigate the effect of various injection parameters. In this study, the experiment is performed by using the high temperature and high pressure chamber. Spray behaviors are visualized by using the high speed camera and spray angle, penetration etc. are measured.<br/> Experimental results are summarized as follows;<br/> 1) Correlations of spray penetration is expressed as follows<br/> 0<t<t b ; 51 = 11.628ΔP0.485p-o.478tl.337<br/> tb<t ; S2=7.457ΔP0.523p-0.380;0.548<br/> 2) Correlations of spray Angle is expressed as follows<br/> Ta.=293K; tan(θ/2)=0.59(pa/pt)0.437<br/> Ta = 473K ; tan (θ/2) = 0.588( Pa/ pt)0.404<br/> 3) The measured macro characteristics - spray tip penetration and spray angle - agreed well with established correlations.<br/>
