        용무도 운동이 비만 고등학생들의 대사증후군 관련 인자와 인슐린 저항성에 미치는 영향

        PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks Yong Mu Do exercise (kick, punch, press, throw, and choke) on metabolic syndrome related factors and insulin resistance in obese high school students. METHODS: 25 high school students participated, and divided into 3 groups as follows : subjects who have normal weight, and non-exercise (Control group, C: n=8), who have normal weight and Yong Mu Do (NY: n=9), who have obese weight and Yong Mu Do (OY: n=8). Yong Mu Do exercise was performed one hour per time, 3 times per week during 8 weeks. All data were analyzed by two-way repeated ANOVA. RESULTS: 1) Body composition (% fat, BMI and WHR) was significantly higher in OY than NY, and C (p<.05). % fat, and WHR were significantly decreased in NY, and OY after 8 weeks exercise (p<.05). 2) WHR and TG, metabolic syndrome related factors, were significantly higher in OY compared to NY and significantly higher in OY compared to NY (p<.05) and C (p<.05). WHR was significantly decreased in OY (p<.05). HDL-C significantly increased in NY and OY (p<.05). 3) Insulin, and HOMA-IR were significantly decreased in NY and C after 8 weeks exercise (p<.05). ONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that Yong Mu Do exercise might result positive effect on metabolic syndrome related factors and insulin resistance in obese high school students.
