Nowadays, manufacturing companies are facing changeable circumstances by global competition and various customer needs. In order to survive from this situation, manufacturing paradigm needs to be mass customization. Digital virtual manufacturing has been new paradigm of product development and work process. Digital virtual factory is the core model of digital virtual manufacturing and integrated model based on P3R (Product, Process, Resource and Plant). Researches on virtual manufacturing have been actively conducted, but they only concentrated on how to build digital virtual factory based on P3R. In this study, a new framework for application for the digital virtual factory to engineering at the design phase to address on how user intentions apply. This framework includes a schema module and decision tree for schema combination, user interface for input data and a schema merging tool. By using UML methodology, P3R schema, based on previous research on schema for the digital virtual factory, is redefined. In addition, user interface and intuitive icons are designed. An Excel schema merge tool for building final schema and scenario analysis for schema design framework are developed.
