It is very difficult to estimate the braking performance of a vehicle because brake system includes many parts such as a booster, a master cylinder, a valve and so forth. To calculate the braking characteristics such as braking force through the real vehicle test requires much time and cost. Therefore, the development of the way to estimate the braking performance of a vehicle with computational methods is needed. In this paper, a program which can analyze the whole braking capabilities of a vehicle is presented. Since all input and output data are composed of the Microsoft Excel format, it is easy to manage design data and found the data base. It is considered that the braking characteristics against the variation of booster vacuum pressure are changed when a vehicle is under braking. Furthermore, the additional postprocessor not only makes the graph presentation of the result data but also generates the Excel result files for the report.

Recent developments in multibody dynamics are mostly related to the flexible multibody dynamics and researches considering structural dynamics. In this paper, using the object-oriented programming language, C, a flexible multibody analysis program is developed. The developed program is easy to attach and rebuild new module program and sub-routine due to its nature; data abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism. Furthermore, developed dynamic solver is composed of three kinds of coordinate system, which are absolute cartesian and orientation coordinates, modal coordinates and absolute nodal coordinates; so that these mixed coordinate systems enables to solve various kinds of system including rigid, flexible and very flexible multibody system. This program could provide the theoretical background and basic foundation to solve various systems and predict their behavior.
