스포츠, 사회문제, 그리고 스포츠사회학 : 사회문제 해결을 위한 스포츠사회학의 도전과 가능성

본 연구에서는 사회문제 해결을 위해 스포츠사회학이 가지고 있는 가치와 가능성을 탐색하기 위해 먼저 사회학의 학문적 효용성과 사회학적 상상력에 대해 설명하고, 우리가 직면한 변화의 시대에서 사회문제 해결을 위한 사회학의 학문적 활용에 대해 알아보았다. 그리고 사회문제의 조건과 범위 특징을 이해하고 스포츠와 관련된 사회문제에 사례에 대해 알아본 후, 그간 학회 차원에서 행해왔던 사회문제 해결을 위한 스포츠사회학의 노력과 한계에 대해 고찰해보았다. 다음으로, 사회문제로 인한 스포츠의 위기와 스포츠사회학의 역할에 대해 고민하고 사회문제 해결을 위한 공공스포츠사회학의 가능성과 사회문제 해결을 위한 스포츠사회학자의 문제의식에 대한 필요성, 마지막으로 사회문제 해결을 위한 스포츠사회학자의 학문적 방향성에 대해 탐색하였다. In this study, we explore the values and possibilities of sociology of Sport for social problems. First of all, we try to explain the academic effectiveness of sociology and sociological imagination, and focused on the academic use of sociology to solve social problems. In addition, the conditions and characteristics of social problems were described for a basic understanding of social problems. After looking at the types of social problems related to sports, we have explored the efforts and limitations of sociology of sport to solve social problems at the academic level. This study contains information about the crisis of sports due to social problems and the role of sociology of sport, and examines the potential of public/political sociology of sport to solve social problems. It also explained the need for sports sociologists to have problem consciousness to solve social problems. Finally, we explore the academic direction of sports sociologists to solve social problems.

인권친화적 대학운동부 문화 조성을 위한 탐색적 연구: 대학학생선수들의 인권침해경험을 중심으로

본 연구는 대학학생선수들의 인권친화적 환경조성을 위하여 대학학생선수들을 대상으로 인권침해와 관련된 경험에 대해 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 심층면담을 실시하였으며, 연구 참여자는 대학생선수 총 10명이었다. 그 결과, 대학학생선수들의 인권침해 경험은 첫째, 자유의 억압과 자기결정권의 통제이다. 대학학생선수들의 삶은 생활의 자기결정권을 제한하는 형식으로 통제가 이루어지며, 대학학생선수들의 기본적인 자유는 억압당하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학생으로서 행복추구권의 박탈이다. 대학문화의 적응은 대게 M.T나 동아리 활동으로 이루어짐에도 불구하고, 다양한 활동에 배제됨으로써 대학문화에 내에서 고립 및 부적응을 경험하고 있다. 셋째, 수동적인 삶과 역능성의 상실경험이다. 대학학생선수들은 대학운동부 활동을 운동선수를 유지하는 수단이고 학업은 시합참가를 위한 최소요건으로 인식하고 있었으며, 운동부 정체성을 획득하는 과정에서 자신의 삶의 통제력을 잃어가고 있었다. 이에 인권친화적인 대학운동부 문화조성을 위해서는 앞으로 대학학생선수들의 인권감수성 증진을 위한 교육은 필요하며, 규제의 방식보다는 학생선수들의 주체성을 토대로 역량강화 프로그램이 요구된다. 또한 대학학생선수들의 인권증진과 역량강화를 위해 보다 적극적인 제도적 보완과 한국대학스포츠협의회와 같은 관련 단체의 노력이 요구된다. The purpose of this study is to describe experiences related to human rights in order to create a human rights-friendly environment for student athletes in college. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with the study participants comprising 10 college athletes. The result is threefold. The first concerns the suppression of freedom and exerting control on self-determination. The lives of college student athletes are controlled by way of restricting their self-determination while their freedom is being suppressed. The second concerns deprivation of the students’pursuit of happiness. Although adaptation to the university culture involves workshops and club activities, the student is still isolated from the university culture by being excluded from various activities, not to mention that it is difficult to adapt to such a culture. The third concerns the experience of a passive life and loss of empowerment. College athletes perceive college athletic activities as a means of becoming athletes and academics which they recognize as a minimum requirement for participation in competitions. But in the process of acquiring and maintaining their identity as athletes, they seem to lose control over the rest of their lives. In the future, this study proposes education to strengthen human rights sensitivity, and a capacity-building program based on the needs and aspirations of student athletes rather than another method of external control. In addition, active organizational policies and efforts will be needed if a human rights-friendly culture is to be made possible.

본 연구는 생활체육 테니스동호인들의 여가문화 향유에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 한국의 생활체육 테니스 대회에 참여하는 이들을 대상으로 목적표집을 실시하였고, 30대부터 70대까지의 연령별 남녀 테니스동호인 15명을 선정하였으며, 연구참여자들을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 생활체육 테니스동호인들의 대회참여를 통한 여가문화 향유는 첫째, 대회출전을 통한 여가문화향유이다. 생활체육 동호인들을 테니스대회가 지속 될 수 있었던 원인은 테니스가 갖고 있는 1)대중성, 2)마니아층 형성, 3)지역 중심의 등급체계 때문이었다. 둘째, 고급 스포츠의 향유였다. 테니스대회에 참여하는 이들은 테니스를 향유 하는 것이 남과 다름을 구별지을 수 있는 상징적인 스포츠라 인식하고 있었고, 여가 선택에 대한 내적 만족감과 자부심을 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 테니스를 통한 소비문화의 향유에서는 테니스 의류나 장비를 통해 자신의 개성이나 정체성을 드러내고자 하였으며, SNS를 통해 테니스 치는 남자 또는 테니스 치는 여자로서의 정체성을 드러내고 있었다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the enjoyment of leisure culture of amateur tennis players. For this study, a purpose sample was extracted for Korean amateur tennis players, and 15 male and female tennis players by age from 30s to 70s were selected and in-depth interviews were conducted for the study participants. As a result, first, enjoy leisure culture by participating in the competition. The reason why the tennis tournament could last for all sports enthusiasts was 1) the popularity of tennis, 2) the formation of enthusiasts, and 3) the regional-oriented grading system. Second, it was the pleasure of high-class sports. amartureTennis players recognized that enjoying tennis was a symbolic sport that could be distinguished from others, and felt inner satisfaction and pride in their leisure choices. Third, I enjoy consumption culture through tennis. He wanted to reveal his personality or identity through tennis clothes or equipment, and he was revealing his identity as a tennis player or tennis player through SNS.

70점 체육교사의 삶과 고백 : 교사로서 회의감의 근원에 대한 생애사 연구

본 연구는 체육교사로서 회의감의 근원적 문제를 찾는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이준호 체육교사를 연구 참여자로 선정하고 생애사 연구방법을 활용하였다. 그 결과, 1) ‘스테레오타입과 문화’, 2) ‘훈육의 변화’, 3) ‘혼란과 자책’, 4) ‘참교사가 아닌 보통교사’의 내용이 도출되었다. 그 결과, 이준호 교사를 괴롭혀온 회의감은 ‘변화의 아이러니’로 설명될 수 있었으며, 그것은 ‘비동시성의 동시성’이라는 근원적 배경에서 비롯된 것임을 확인시켜주었다. 결국, 학교 내 존재하는 ‘비동시성의 동시성’의 모순으로 인해 이준호 교사의 감정적 소진은 필연적 귀결이었으며 그것은 한편으로 그가 이 시대의 평범한 체육교사임을 보여주고 한국사회 평범한 체육교사들의 삶과 고민을 이해하는데 도움을 주었다고 판단된다. This study aims to find the fundamental problem of skepticism as a PE teacher. For above, a PE teacher, Jun-ho Lee is selected as a participant of this study and used the life history method. Based on the result of above, the contents of 1) ‘Stereotype and subculture’, 2) ‘Changing in discipline.’, 3) ‘Confusion and self-accusation’, 4) ‘Ordinary teacher, not a true teacher’ is drawn. This result shows that the skepticism concerned the teacher can be explained as ‘irony of change’ and it is confirmed that this is originated by the fundamental background as ‘simultaneity of non-simultaneous’. In conclusion, the emotional exhaustion due to the inconsistency of ‘simultaneity of non-simultaneous’ existing in the school is inevitable consequence, and on the other hand, it shows that he is an ordinary PE teacher and it helps to understand the life and worry of ordinary PE teachers in Korean society.
