In this study, disinfection effect of coliform group treated with ozone was analyzed for the effluent discharging from activated sludge treatment process in hospital wastewater treatment plant. Based on these results, it aims to get basic data to establish the disinfection facility in hospital wastewater treatment, suggesting affecting factors according to hydraulic retention time of the activated sludge process and design basic factors necessary to ozone disinfection. Removal efficiencies of coliform group for the effluent according to HRT such as 4hr, 8hr, 12hr were analyzed using a lab-scale activated sludge process, respectively. To decay the microorganism regulates the CT value multiplied disinfectant concentration by contact time. CT value is highly correlated with a removal efficiency of coliform group and according to increasing an injected ozone concentration, the CT value was increased.. When HRT was 4, 8, 12 hours , CT value takes place at minimum condition 50, 40, 334 mg/L-min, respectively.

This study was carried out to develop the new process for RBC process which is capable of nutrient removal and to obtain its design parameters for Sludge Settling Type Rotating Biological Contactors by comparing RBC with RBC combined with HBR (Hanmee Bio-Reactor). To achieve more than 90% of organic removal efficiency, organic loading rate less than 6.0g BOD/㎡/d is recommended. Nitrification rate was about 90% at 6.0g BOD/㎡/d. TN removal efficiency of RBC+HBR was higher than those of RBCl and RBC2. TN removal efficiency at condition of 5.0g BOD/㎡/d was about 60% in RBCl. When BOD loading rate was 6.0g BOD/㎡/d, TN removal efficiencies in RBC2 and RBC+HBR were about 70%, 80%, respectively. TP removal efficiency was more than about 67% for RBC1, about 63% for RBC2 and about 71% for RBC+HBR at the same loading rate. From the blank experiment to observe removal efficiency in the first stage, it can be known that COD removal efficiency was about 30% and suspend solids settling rate was about 45%. It was proved that RBC+HBR is much better in sludge dewatering than RBC.

This study was to look out a better water quality of Tumen river by observing the variation of quality and causes of pollution for 30years since 1977 the negotiations between China and North Korea to present. China decreased industrial wastewater discharge and COD load by 71% and 94%, respectively through constant efforts since negotiation to present. But Tumen river is a boundary river so that the water quality should not be solved only by China. As the economics of North Korea recovers, industrial wastewater will be a big problem for a potential risk factor and it must to resolve by the negotiation between two countries. The main pollution sources in China are Chenming paper industry company, Shixian paper industry company and the urban sewage by population growth of Yanbian. Beneficiation wastewater of Musan iron mine has become a big SS pollution problem, and industrial wastewater including the strong organic matter and volatile phenol from Aoji chemistry company would have been a problem in North Korea. According to the ‘12.5’planning to improve water quality in Tumen river, the government planned bad V class(worse than 40mg/L COD) which occupies 9.7% of the water quality area presently to less than V class, and I~III class which occupies 71% to more than 80%. Construction of sewage treatment plants should be urgently needed in Yanji, Hunchun and 5 other cities.
