The aim of this study was to analyze the local distribution of the heavy metal concentration in Daegu and Ulsan which were divided into the residual areas, the traffic dense areas and the industrial areas. The Inductively Coupled Plasma(ICP) was used to analyze heavy metals, such as As, Cr, Hg, Zn, Cd, Pb, Cu and minor metals, such as Fe, Si, Mg, Ca, AI, Na, K. The results of this analysis showed that the content of heavy metals which was classified by districts in Daegu and Ulsan was the highest in the industrial areas followed by the traffic dense areas and the residual areas. Compared to the level of heavy metals of national and local soil survey network in 2003, contamination of heavy metals in Daegu was lower than national average. However, the content of Cd, As, Zn in Ulsan was respectively 13.38 times, 472 times and 2.65 times higher than national average contamination. In addition, compared to the soil pollution level of the environmental protection law, contamination of all areas in Daegu was lower. But the content of As at the industrial areas in Ulsan was 10.71 times higher than standard of soil pollution and 4.28 times higher than standard of measures against soil contamination.
미생물을 이용한 가정용 음식물쓰레기 처리에 대한 실험적 고찰

The purpose of this study is to investigate the treatment of food waste using microorganisms. The processor used in this experiment employs a PVA carrier which is dominated by microorganisms of the Lactobacillus group. It is equipped with a stirrer to mix food and a water injection device for microbial preservation and proliferation. For the physicochemical analysis, 500 g of food was added to the processor, and the effluent was sampled for 72 hours. The decomposition of organic substance proceeded rapidly until 6 hours - for the period of C / N ratio balance was appropriate. Furthermore, to examine the residual amount and decomposition rate of food, 500g of food was added and were observed for 120 hours. At the end of the experiment, 15 g was retained in the processor, and the decomposition rate resulted in 97%. The remaining 3% food is considered to be non-biodegradable materials. The size of the particles was examined to understand the effects on the sewage pipe by using the effluent of the microorganism extinction processor and the disposer. The size of particles discharged from the disposer were 4.5 times larger in area and 2.4 times larger in length than that of particles from the microorganism extinction processor.

In general, the growth curve is divided into four stages such as a lag phase, a log phase, a stationary or death phase. The algae needs several different nutrients at each phase. In this study, I tried to analyze a correlation divided on algae growth stages between a algal growth and water quality factors in lake Daechung. On the result of analysis, there was a normal correlation between Chl-a and several factors affiliated with nitrogen on the lag phase. On the log phase, strong correlations began to show between Chl-a, the number of cyanobacteria and water quality factors affiliated with phosphorus element. And the number of cyanobacteria also began to relate high to the number of total algae. During an entire period, there was a significant correlation between Chl-a and COD, so COD had a possibility to be a major nutrient for a algal growth. To control a algal growth for lake Daechung, I recommend to make the basic plan of water quality management included T-N control method for the spring, strong T-P control way for the summer and COD control plan for the entire period.
오산천 수계 수질변화 및 수질인자 간 상관성에 관한 연구

This study aims to provide relevant data about the Osan-cheon water in order to improve the water quality and effectively run that water system. Chl-a and COD are respectively 24.14(mg/m3) and 7.51(mg/L) in Osan-cheon which indicates that the water quality is poor in it. It shows the characteristic of water contamination, which gets worse in the dry season since the amount of water lacks. The data about the water quality from the three different areas called state-level Osan-cheon, local-level Osan-cheon, and Shingal reservoir were collected and analyzed to reveal the correlation of Chl-a and water pollution factors. Several different data sources from 2008 to 2012 were examined. This investigation reveals that COD is strongly correlated with Chl-a in Shingal reservoir and state-level Osan-cheon. Mostly COD is correlated with other water quality factors throughout the regional research sites. The density of T-N, T-P, COD is higher in winter than that in summer in the research areas. Therefore, how to manage COD and how to manage water pollution factors in winter would be most important to efficiently manage rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.

During an entire period, there was a significant correlation between Chl-a, nitrogen and phosphorus, so nutritive salts had a possibility to be a major nutrient for a algal growth. To control a algal growth for lake Juam, I recommend to make the basic plan of water quality management included nutritive salts control plan for the entire period.
