Loop heat pipe is a very reliable and versatile heat transport system which makes it possible to considerably extend the capability of two phase heat transfer devices with a capillary pumping force. In this study, heat transfer characteristics of the loop heat pipe at the vertical mode was investigated through the fabrication of practical heat sink models. Heat sink model basically consist of the separated vapor/liquid channels, evaporator having sintered ceramic wick and condenser cooled by air, water and ammonia were used as the working fluid.

Incidences of pulmonary thromboembolism markedly increase with age. Risk factors of pulmonary thromboembolism are surgery, trauma, acute medical illness, immobilization, pregnancy, usage of hormone, and advanced age. In the cases of thrombomembolism occurred in young age, the possibility of thrombophilc state is needed to be investigated. Among many diseases or state associated thrombophilic state, homocyteinemia should be considered a cause of thromboembolism before fifth decade. Homocyteinemia is caused by deficiency of N-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, cystathionie β-synthase and vitamin B12. The presence of the mutation of 5,10-methyleneterahydrofolate lead to homocyteinemia by deficiency of -5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Homocysteine is acknowledged the risk factor of cardiovascular event, and storke. omocysteinemia can be the cause of thromboemboism via damaging endotheial cell. We present two cases of pulmonary thromboembolism in young age which seem to be associated with homocysteinemia precipitated by mutation of 5,10-methyleneterahydrofolate.

AMTEC are being considered for a number of potential next power generation technology, requiring low mass, low cost, long life, and high-efficiency power systems (up to the 40%). In particular, because the output density per unit mass is about two to three times of solar power, sterling engine, it can be widely used in power generation field for the space, military and the usage of high-temperature waste heat. In this study, capillary circulation wick for AMTEC was design and was manufactured.

In this study, we have manufactured the flat plate heat pipe with different square modules ; different hight(10㎜, 5㎜) and width(30㎜, 20㎜), and investigated the operating characteristics of flat plate heat pipe experimentally. Water was used as a working fluid. Fill charge ratio and heat flux was changed(10-40 vol.%, 10-45W). Surface temperature, inner saturated temperature and pressure were measured. Experiment was conducted in condition of nature convection and thermal resistance was showed as representative index for heat transfer performance. Optimal module type was selected and minimum surface temperature difference ranged 0.3~1.1℃ when average surface temperature ranged 70~150℃

An open smart design platform is being developed for industries that consume a lot of heat energy, such as steel, food, and textile industries, in order to promote the spread and diffusion of energy-saving technologies. In this study, we are trying to establish a business model with public interest, openness, scalability, ease of design, reliability and sustainability of platform for the effective dissemination and utilization of demand technologies in the relevant field through the stable operation of a smart design platform for industrial facilities that consume a lot of heat energy. In the process of establishing this business model, we tried to review the existing best practices applicable to the smart design platform and utilize the innovation methods according to the 10 business model innovation types to discover the optimal type. In this paper, we will briefly discuss the contents reviewed in this process.
