중국경제는 지난 30여 년간의 개혁개방을 통해 경제규모와 국민소득에서 큰폭의 성장을 이룩했다. 그러나 양적 성장에 치우친 지난 경제성장모델은 질적성장이라는 새로운 경제성장방식으로의 전환을 요구받고 있다. 예컨대, 중국의 고도성장은 루이스전화점 아래에서 이루어져 왔으나, 최근 경제성장률이 하락하고 임금이 급등하며 연해지역 구인난이 만연하면서 이미 루이스전화점을 통과한 것이 아닌가 하는 논의가 전개되고 있다. 향후 나타날 중국경제의 전환기적 특징은 성장방식의 변화, 산업구조 고도화, 노동시장 급변, 친환경 및 에너지절감정책 등을 들 수 있다. 이와 같은 전환기적 중국경제의 특징은 비용상승으로 연결되어 경영환경을 악화시키는 측면이 있지만, 한편으로는 우리 기업들에게 새로운 기회요인도 제공하고 있음에 유의해야 한다. The paper analyzes the weakness of China`s traditional pattern of growth and the causes of China`s transformation in the pattern of economic development. Rapid economic growth of China has been realized under the Lewis turning point but with recent drop in growth rate and wage rise, fierce debates over whether or not China already passed by the Lewis turning point are taking place. This paper discusses about the major structural changes which are likely to occur for the next five to ten years; namely, sustainable growth, urbanization, industrial upgrading, environment friendly policy, growth in service sector, employment friendly labor policy. The transition of Chinese economy linked to the rising cost, the Korean company`s business environment is steadily worsening, but it should be noted that these factors also offers new opportunities to the many of Korean companies.
