동영상을 이용한 근력 강화 운동이 허약 여성노인의 악력, 균형, 이동능력에 미치는 영향

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate characteristics of the effects of a video strength exercise on grip strength, balance, timed up and go in the frail elderly women. METHODS: Subjects were thirty frail elderly people selected by the screening tool and they were divided into exercise group and control group. The video strength exercise was carried out for three time a week for 12 weeks. Data was analyzed with independent t-test between exercise and control group and paired t-test between before and after. RESULTS: There were not significant differences between exercise and control group. However, there were significant effects between before and after in exercise group. The grip strength and one-leg stand with eyes open were significant improved and timed up and go was significant decreases. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that the video strength exercise for the frail elderly was very effective on improving grip strength and one-leg stand and timed up and go.
양손 운동이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 뇌활성도와 근활성도에 미치는 영향

PURPOSE: This study investigated the neurophysiological and behavioral adaptation during one or both hands movement in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: The study included sixteen hemiplegic stroke patients. Neurophysiological data (brain activation and muscle activation) were examined by electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG), and behavioral adaptation was examined by wrist extension angle during wrist extension with one hand or both hands. Outcome variables of one hand or both hands were; mu rhythm of the EEG, EMG amplitude of wrist extensor and flexor muscles, and wrist angle of Myomotion 3D motion analysis. RESULTS: Our results revealed that wrist extension angle was significant increased during both hands movement compared to one hand movement (p<.05). Furthermore, in affected sensorimotor area, there was significant increase in the brain activation during both hands movement compared to one hand movement (p< .05). However, there was no significant different between one hand and both hands movement in muscle activation (p >.05). CONCLUSION: According to the findings of this experiment, bilateral arm movement improved brain activity on affected sensorimotor area and wrist extension angle. Therefore, we suggest that bilateral arm movement would positive effect on stroke rehabilitation in terms of increase in brain activation on affected motor area and wrist extension during bilateral arm movement.
단거리질주 능력에 미치는 하지의 근파워 및 근력특성의 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate the contribution of muscle power or strength and sprint performance within the same quality group of sprinters. The muscle power (E:generated energy, A:weight related to energy loss) or strength (ISO:maximal isometric strength) values were measured both extension and flexion for the joint (knee and hip) movements tested, using a inertia wheel. The subjects were 26 well-trained male sprinters (18-22 yr). For sprint performance the following 5 indexes were taken. (1) 70mF:The time of the former half (0-30m) in 70m sprinting. (2) 70mL:The time of the latter half (30-70m) in 70m sprinting. (3) 70m:The time in 70m sprinting. (4) 100m:The time in 100m sprinting. (5) 200m:The time in 200m sprinting. The results were summarized as follows; 1) The muscle power (E, A, E/BW, NEW) and strength (ISO, ISO/BW) values of the flexion of knee joint were observed highest in four exercise styles. 2) A negative significant correlation were observed between A/BW (knee extension and flexion) and 70mF, 70m, 200m sprint records (r=-0.641~-0.403, p<0.05). 3) A positive significant correlation were observed between ISO/BW (knee flexion) and 70mL, 70m sprint records (r=-0.462, 0.423, p<0.05). 4) The close relationships (multipul correlation) were observed between E/BW+A/BW+ISO/BW, E/BW+A/BW and all sprint records (r=0.828~0.708, r=0.724~0.556, p<0.05), and observed between A/BW and 70mF, 70m, 200m sprint records (r=0.701, 0.656, 0.564, p<0.05). From thease results, the muscle power and strength by the knee extension and flexion necessary in order to succeed in the same quality group of sprinters. However, this is not a absolute important factor which decides sprint performance.
