LRD A/BAG DOOR SYSTEM 개발에 관한 연구

Lately, most of the car makers are choosing LRD requirement option and developing new LRD passenger airbag system. This paper presents a new methodology for improvement of airbag deployment using experimental and analytical research. The significant prediction parameters were determined from statistic analysis of the experiment data. As a result of the great number of tests at different conditions, this study was able to determine the ranges of relevant parameters. Additionally, using LRD simulation model, the parametric study was done to figure out which design factors mainly affect the LRD deployment of the passenger airbag, and some design improvements were presented.

Nowadays one of the most importance thing of developing a new car is lightening weight of vehicle. Therefore most of car makers make efforts to build up skills to lighten their vehicles. However, it is difficult thing to reduce weight of vehicle within maintaining their quality and cost of vehicle. Furthermore, it is not easy to apply a new technology because some parts on vehicle could affect safety of passengers. So before a new technology applies on vehicles, we must verify its feasibility and side effect of vehicle. As for this paper, we made lightened windshield glass that is more lighten 25% than windshield glass currently in use on vehicle. And we verify feasibility of lighetened windshield glass through various evaluation methods. In this paper we have attemped to define the possibility of applying lightened windshield glass on new vehicles.

The trend in the automotive industry is to exchange most of existing mechanical parts for electric or electronic parts in vehicle. The number of sensors are increased and the needs of customer are getting more complex. So most of hard parts to support driving condition should be changed to intelligent parts, like ASIC, MCU etc, to satisfy customer’s complex needs. We have two special concepts in this project to accomplish those goals. The first one is achieve the ability to develop rain sensor, the second one is to optimize and integrate several function, hardware parts to reduce the cost and package size.
