This paper gives the results of survey of lightning damages in apartments which are obtained by questionnaire and the cases of lightning damages of home automation systems in apartments. Survey result shows that lightning damages are increasing every year. Also the surge durability tests of home automation system were performed. It was reveled that two of the five specimens had failed to pass the durability test for the surge voltage.
반가상화 파일시스템을 이용한 파일 입출력 성능 향상 구조 설계

다양한 가상화 기술이 연구되고 하드웨어에서 가상화를 지원하는 기능들을 추가함에 따라 가상화는 다양한 분야에서 이용되고 있다. 하지만 가상화된 시스템에서 입출력이 많이 발생하는 워크로드는 게스트와 호스트 간 모드 전환(vmexit)이 자주 발생하고, 호스트와 게스트 운영체제의 중복된 입출력 스택으로 인해 성능 저하가 야기된다. 본 논문에서는 가상화 환경을 인지한 반가상화 파일시스템을 통해 중복된 입출력 스택을 제거하고 vmexit의 발생을 최소화하여, 가상화 환경에서 파일 입출력 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 구조를 제안한다. 제안 기법의 성능 향상을 측정하기 위해 FUSE를 이용하여 프로토타입을 구현하고, 성능을 측정한 결과 파일 입출력 중심의 워크로드에서 virtio 대비 19~60% 성능이 향상되고, 입출력 처리 과정 중 발생되는 vmexit이 93% 감소하였다. 또한 각 파일 입출력 연산의 응답 시간이 33% 감소됨을 확인하였다. With several new virtualization technologies and virtualization-support devices, virtualization is now being widely used in various areas. In a virtualized environment, however, I/O-intensive workloads still suffer from performance degradation due to CPU mode switching (vmexit) and duplicated I/O stacks in host and guest OSes. In this paper, we propose a framework with paravirtualized filesystem for improving file I/O performance in a virtualized environment by removing redundant I/O stack and occurrence of vmexit. To verify performance improvement of our approach, we implemented a prototype with FUSE and measured its file I/O performance. The results show that our framework gives 19~60% better throughput than virtio, and vmexits are reduced by 93%. In addition, file I/O latency is decreased by 33%.

공동주택에서의 서지보호장치(SPD) 시공 실태 및 개선방안

SPD(Surge Protective Device) is very important in LPS(Lightning Protection System) to protect vulnerable electrical and electronics devices from surges caused by lightning strokes or switching. Also SPD should be installed with shot lead line to protect electronic installations. But this paper finds the fact that almost SPDs have been installed with lead line exceeding 0.5m in apartments. This paper suggests the improvement of SPD installation method with equipotential bonding bar to eliminate voltage caused by lead line impedance. Suggested method was certified by experiment with excellent performance.
공동주택 금속기와지붕 수뢰시스템의 자재 및 시공기법 개발

Apartments covered with a metal roof made from galvalume steel are prevailing due to their economic and technical advantages. The metal roof, however, has disadvantages in terms of the installation of air-termination system on it because of the slip thickness of the metal roof. In this paper, the impacts of the lightning current to a metal roof were verified experimentally with a short lightning impulse current (10/350[㎲]). Also, we developed various supporters of air-termination conductor for the metal roof and verified their excellent workability and economical strength through field application test.
수선이력을 통한 임대아파트 수변전실의 역률보상용 커패시터 수명 및 수선교체주기의 통계적 검증

It is generally recognized that the life of a capacitor can be affected by its operating temperature, terminal voltage or current. By the various reasons, many capacitors are failed in operating to a designed life expectancy. This paper studied the service life and the replacement cycle of power factor correction capacitors installed in apartment power service center using the maintenance record. From the results, it was confirmed that most power factor correction capacitors have service life and replacement cycle between 10 years and 20 years.
