International trade flows have been determined by social, cultural and political environment around the world as well as economic elements. The environment of international trade has changed rapidly as the world has globalized. Significant changes have been generated in the international trade flows. This study investigates the influences of economic globalization on the international trade flows. The changes in international trade flows examined comprehensively by integrating trade with industrial locations, investment, and the various trade related environments. The focus laid on the integration of world economies, such as widening and intensifying international linkages in economic, political and social relation. Special concerns are laid on the impacts of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) by Trans National Corporations (TNCs), which affect the supply- demand distributions of commodities by industrial relocations, and the expansion of infra-firm trade flows on the international trade flows patterns. The geographical characteristics of the origins and destinations of FDI flows analyzed, since the spatial patterns of the infra-firm trade flows are determined by them. The FDI and infra-firm trade flow patterns have changed significantly over time.
미디어 이용자의 활동공간 시,공간 정보를 활용한서울의 실시간 인구 분포 분석

This study attempts to introduce the methodology for accounting real-time population distribution in the urban areas. For the purpose, we utilize the media user’s time-space information from the media users’ media diaries in the media panel survey databases. We analyze the space-time population rate for each activity space related with everyday urban lifes. Seoul has been selected as a case study area, since space-time information are relatively rich there, and thus the comparisons are available. The space-time population rates have been verified by the comparative analysis with the T-card results. We propose a real time population measurement method by combination of the space-time population rate with geo-graphical data. The real time population of each activity space at each dong in Seoul has been calculated by multiplying the space-time population rates to the numbers of employer of three categories of activity spaces(residential, working, and commercial). By utilizing GIS, we visualize the results of two time points(3AM and 3PM) and then analyze the spacio-temporal characteristics of real time population distribu-tionin Seoul. The Day time population distribution pattern shows strong relationships with the distribution of business and commercial activities, while the night time population distribution pattern can be explained by resident population distribution almost perfectly.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in the accessibility of the Metropolitan Seoul Transit systems since 2000, in which many new subway lines have been constructed as well as other urban transit lines have been connected to the systems. We suggest an accessibility measure model for Un-fixed Transportation Networks. In order to measure the nodal accessibility based on the mobility, we apply path-distance, physical-distance, and time-distance as the distance impedance measurement. Specifically, we develop time-distance algorithms to measure the time-distance between each pairs of transit stations based on the T-card transaction databases. We apply the model to the Metropolitan Seoul Transit systems in two time points (2005 and 2011). We examine the results in terms of three distance accessibility measures. Time-distance accessibility explains better the urban land use patterns in the Metropolitan Seoul area than the other two. We visualize the spatial patterns of time-distance accessibility by applying GIS, and analyze the spatial structures of accessibility in the Metrropolitan Seoul area between two time points.

Abstract: This study investigates the time-space characteristics of intra-urban passenger flows in the Metropolitan Seoul area. In particular, we analyze the relationships between transit rider-ship and land use through the use of the subway passenger flow data obtained from the transit transaction databases. For this purpose, the strength of each subway station, i.e., the number of total in-coming and out-going passengers at each station, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, is calculated and visualized, which reflects urban land use patterns. Then the subway stations are classified into four groups via a hierarchical analysis of the in-coming and out-going passenger flows at 353 stations. Each group appears to have characteristic properties according to the region, e.g., residential areas and central business districts. This has been confirmed by the analysis which probes explicitly the relationship between the local socio-economic variables and station groups. This analysis, disclosing the inter-relationship between the subway network and urban land use may be useful at various stages in urban as well as transportation planning, and provides analytical tools for a wide spectrum of applications ranging from impact evaluation to decision-making and planning support.

This study investigates the interaction mechanisms and processes between cyber space and real space. In particular, we analyze the relationships between changes on the economic landscape of the Bookchon region and the information supply and demand for this area on the Internet Blogs. In order to obtain the behavioral data about how people get information for Bookchon area and the reaction afterward, we perform questionnaire survey. The results of analysis reveal that there are significant connection between real space and cyber space, Internet Blog in particular. Internet Blog is the major media obtaining information about Bookchon area for major portion of people. Most people visit Bookchon after searching informations about it via Internet Blog. In particular, young generations who possess better capability to treat social media. At the same time, female, student, and office workers show these attitudes very strongly. We introduce a conceptual model for the interaction processes between cyber space and real space based on the survey data analysis, and propose a simple theoretical model for the dynamics of the total number of visitors about specific place with the experience of cyber space visit.
