In this paper, a mode change algorithm for DCT based two clutch HEV is proposed. The proposed mode change algorithm controls motor, engine clutch, and DCT clutch to crank up the engine and synchronize the engine speed with motor speed without ISG. In order to evaluate the mode change algorithm, DCT based two clutch HEV simulator is developed. It is found from simulation results that mode change from EV mode to HEV mode is performed showing satisfactory acceleration performance without torque shock which deteriorates the driving comfort.
