In this study we have studied running stability, safety and passenger comfort of the Chinese first class passenger car made by our company and CCRW. A fine analysis model of 72 d.o.f. was constructed for simulating dynamic behavior of the car on straight and curved tracks having irregularity configurations. We have calculated the various characteristic values such as critical speed, lateral force, derailment ratio, wheel unloading ratio and passenger comfort index, then evaluated them by comparing with reference values.
철도차량 주행안전성관련 미국 연방법규(CFR)에 따른 본선 Speed Qualification Test 개요

The Hyundai Rotem company is due to be conducted the main line Speed Qualification Test as regulated by CFR for SEPTA EMU and SCRRA Bi-level coach project. The regulated test items per 49CFR213.345 are wheel/rail interaction forces and carbody/truck accelerations during running on main line. Therefore the special two sets of instrumented wheelset (IWS) per each project have been made for measuring the interaction forces between wheel and rail at four wheels of one truck during running on main line. In this paper, regarding Speed Qualification Test, the required test items and data analysis method per 49CFR213.345 and the preparation status of instrumented wheelsets (IWS) are introduced.

The wind is one of principal factors to decide the operation condition of railways and the wind effect increases with the higher running and wind speed. Especially the side wind force which is acted on carbody side area increases the carbody lateral and roll movement and as results can increase the possibility of infringement with the civil structure under worst condition. Therefore the side wind on Kinematic Envelope of railways greatly affect on the carbody and bogie design. In this paper, the consideration of side wind on Kinematic Envelope of railways has been studied.

The railway shall be verified with the view point of dynamic performances before delivering to the Customer and the verification procedure shall be followed the Customer"s demands or relevant international standard, UIC 518 (Testing and approval of railway vehicles from the point of view of their dynamic behavior-Safety-Track fatigue-Ride quality). In this paper, verification procedures in UIC 518 and the test results for domestic project are summarized.
궤도 검측 데이터의 동특성 해석 적용 방법에 관한 연구

The accuracy of the results of the rail vehicle dynamic model is dependent on the realism of the track input to the model. An important part of the track input is the irregularities that exist on actual track. This study presents a modeling method for creating track data with the irregularities for use as the input to VAMPIRE, a rail vehicle dynamic analysis program. The characteristics of the measured track data using the mid chord system has been studied and examined the method to create track data with the measured data to apply in the vehicle dynamic analysis.

When a vehicle is running on the curve, the motion of the vehicle is subjected to a cant deficiency or cant excess. And the vehicle will move laterally, vertically and roll, this combination of movements is called sway. All modern vehicle suspensions with air-springs have non-linear characteristics, and the extent of the sway of a vehicle is dependent upon the suspension characteristics. The safe operation of a rail vehicle on the infrastructure is dependent upon maintaining adequate clearance between the vehicle and adjacent structures. We have described the sway calculation procedure according to BASS501 in this paper, and compared the calculation result with the sway test results.
동역학 해석용 Air Spring Modeling 방법에 대한 고찰

To predict the dynamic behaviour of railway vehicle, the complex vehicle structure has been described by mathmatical model such as mass, spring and damper. Air-spring has played a major role to improve dynamic characteristics, vibration isolation and ride comfort. The mechanical behaviour of air spring is very complicated. The behaviour is based on fluid and thermodynamic mechanisms. The main parameters of air spring are stiffness due to compression of the air in the spring and surge reservoir, change of area stiffness and orifice damping. In this paper, we have studied an air-spring modeling method and compared the difference between calculation and test.

The maximum vehicle profile should be determined according to the required international standards as UIC505-1, BASS501 and other gauge. In this report, the method to determine the maximum vehicle construction gauge according to UIC505-1 has been studied and applied to the current designing vehicle.
