This paper presents the SOC-based control strategy of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) for providing power system frequency regulation in the bulk power systems. As the life cycle of BESS would be shortened by frequent changes of charge and discharge required for frequency regulation in a steady state, the proposed algorithm operates BESS within a range of SOC where its life cycle can be maximized. However, during a transient period of which occurrence frequency is low, BESS would be controlled to use its full capacity in a wider range of SOC. In addition, each output of multiple BESS is proportionally determined by its SOC so that the balance in SOC of multiple BESS can be managed. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified through various case studies employing a test system. Moreover, the control result of BESS with the measured frequency from a real system shows SOC of BESS can be maintained within a specific range although the frequency deviation is biased.

The paradigm of the interior space of the car is changing as it expands beyond simple seating to relaxation and entertainment. In response to this, we have developed a new concept of relaxation comfort seat that enables simultaneous performing reclining and cushion tilt as a study of zero gravity fatigue reduction posture, and it was the first in the world to apply Grandeur passenger seat. Since this technique requires the lower thigh angle to be raised by at least 28°, it cannot be implemented with the existing tilt mechanism, and a structure that lowers the H-Pt while maximizing the tilt amount has been added. This was also applied to the 2nd row seat, but it could not be applied to seats with the Fold&Dive function applied to increase the luggage capacity of the SUV because the cushion part moved downward in conjunction with the back. To solve this, the idea was devised to move the tilt mechanism together with the cushion part in the same direction, and a new concept mechanism was developed using TRIZ to separate the hockey bar into two in order to further lower the H-Pt position. Since this technology can be implemented only by changing some parts in the existing frame, it can be applied immediately. In addition, in the era of autonomous driving, it is expected that it will make a great contribution with technology that can increase customer satisfaction.
