The new design concepts for the middle school are developed as the seventh curriculum is published. However, the credential dats for investigating plan and spatial organization, and the type of rooms are hardly found. On this background, the purpose of this study is to provide fundamental resources for architectural designing and planning of middle schools and to recognize national status of plan organizations of middle schools through collecting 150 school's standard design drawings(arrangement, plan drawing) which city, province education office drafted for 4 years(from 1997 to 2000) and analyzing them into plan types, number of rooms. A future study on the architectural planning standards for middle schools to fulfill the 7th curriculum or diverse educational device is needed through which performing the research for the status of actual usuage of spaces as the facilility is built.
