In order to determine the availibility of proteins and enzymes profile for vigor test or right time for vigor test in naked barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), these investigations on the electrophoretic variations of proteins and enzymes in artificially aged dry and germinating seeds were carried out . 1. When seeds were accelerated aged for 0, 48, 72, 96, 120 and 168 hours, the germination percentages were decreased from 92.5 % to 76, 56.5, 35, 22 and 9.5 %, respectivelt. 2. There were not any electrorphoretic variations of proteins by increasing treatment hours and germination hours of barley seeds . 3. By increasing aging treatment hours, the intensify and number of bands of peroxidases , malate dehydrogenases , glutamate dehydrosenases and glutamate oxalo-acetate transaminases were decreased .While, those of acid phosphatases were increased. 4. The intensity and number of bands of glutamate dehydrogenases were changed by aged dry condition, but those of glutamate dehydrogenases were not changed by Increasing germination hours. 5. These enzymes might be used for determination of seed vigor. Considering the desirability of rapid seed vigor test, it will be more reasonable to evaluate seed vigor in aged dry seeds.
