Simulation of stratified urban street canyons using Immersed boundary method with wall layer models

We simulate neutral and stratified urban street canyon model using the Large-eddy simulation and Immersed boundary (IB) method. To reduce the computational cost, General-Purpose GPU computation is used, and two different wall layer models are applied around the floor region and near the IB surface, respectively. We propose a newly developed wall layer model for temperature around IB objects based on linear and power-law profiles. The desired velocity and temperature of Lagrangian points are reconstructed based on the theoretical formulation to satisfy the actual gradient value near the IB surface. The Validity of simulation results is compared to wind tunnel experimental data, and the stratification effect is investigated with statistics.
