BLU(Back Light Unit) is one of kernel parts of LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit. New 3-D micro-lens pattern for LGP(Light Guide Plate), one of the most important parts of LCD-BLU, was proposed and applied to injection mold. Instead of dot pattern made by chemical etching or laser ablation, the SCS(Slanted Curved Surface) micro-lens as micro-optical unit of LGP was applied and designed for optical CAE simulation. The method of optical design using optical CAE simulation for the SCS micro-lens, the new fabrication method of micro-mold with SCS micro-lens pattern was introduced and basic geometric aspects of the SCS micro-lens for LGP pattern was discussed.

Recently, many researches on the development of super-hydrophobic and anti-reflective surfaces have been concentrated on the fabrication of nano-patterned products. The nano-patterned mold is a key to replicate nano-patterned products by mass production techniques such as injection molding and and UV molding. The present paper proposes fabricating nano-patterned mold with cost-effective method. The nano-pattern molded was fabricated by electroforming the anodic aluminum oxide template without E-beam lithography. The final mold with nano-patterns showed the pores with the diameter of 100~200 nm and the height of 150 nm was fabricated.

Recently, products of electronic industry and related parts are required to have the thickness thinner and thinner to reduce the part weight. To go with this trend, LGP(light guide plate) of LCD-BLU(Liquid Crystal Display-Back Light Unit: It is one of kernel parts of LCD) for cell phone has the thickness of ~0.3mm and the battery case of cell phone has ~0.25mm. Accordingly, high speed injection molding is required to mold products which have thinner parts. To achieve high speed injection and proper control of hydraulic unit, various design was applied to conventional injection unit. In the present paper, we concentrated on the molding stability of hydro-mechanical high speed injection machine to make an LGP of 0.3mm thickness.

Polymer solar cells are a type of organic solar cell (also called plastic solar cell), or organic photovoltaic cell that produce electricity from sunlight using polymers. It is a relatively novel technology, they are being researched by universities, national laboratories and several companies around the world. In this paper, stamping mold of barrier ribs for polymer solar cells was manufactured by lithography and electroforming which can control the height of pattern and 80nl of barrier ribs was manufactured by using hot embossing.
