This experiment was carried out with 30 growing pigs during a period of 14 weeks to examine the effects of additional levels of 0.1 and 3% of pine-needle meal on body weight gain. 1. The pig fed 1% pine-needle meal showed significantly (P $lt; 0.01) higher body weight gain. 2. Body weight gain of 3% was lower than that of 1%. 3. Effects of pine-needle meal was appeared at early stage of growing period. 4. Pine-needle meal adding by 1% is desirable for growth, economical value, disease control and feed efficiency.

An experiment was carried out to identify the number of chromosomes and the chromosomal patterns of the Korean wild pig. The results obtained from this study are as follows: The chromosome numbers, including sex chromosomes, of the korean wild pig(S. coreanus) were 38. In chromosomal patterns of the domestic and wild pig, it showed all the same chromosomal phase, such as the #1, #3, #4, #6, #7, #9, and #10 chromosomes were submetacentric, and the #11, #12, #13, #15, #17, and Y chromosomes were metacentric, respectively, but the X chromosome was metacentric in the domestic, wheras submetacentric in the wild pig. The arm ratios and centromeric indexes in all homologous chromosomes in the domestic and wild pigs showed significantly different at P<0.05. In the acrocentric chromosomes, in the wild and domestic pigs, the #2 and #18 chromosomes were significant difference.
