조선시대 풍수학은 성리학으로 인해 미신적이라 판단하여 멸시하기도 하였으나 전반기에 걸쳐 지속적으로 전행되었다. 성리학적 자연관과 인간의 조화 및 부계원칙의 사회관을 유지하기 위해서 풍수학을 활용하였다. 조선후기의 지방사족과 백성에게도 풍수가 유행하여 풍수의 영향력은 확대되었다. 『조선왕조실록』의 기사를 통해서 조선전기 중앙의 풍수담론은 지맥을 중심으로 풍수서책을 인용하여 해석 하였다. 조선중기 사림세력의 강화와『주자가례』에 의한 의식화를 위해 적장자 권위유지의 수단으로 풍수학을 이용하였다. 이러한 시대적 풍토로 인해 사대부 및 백성도 천장을 많이 행하게 되었으며 사회적인 폐단으로 이어졌다. 또한 ‘효’이데올로기의 사회적 확산과 조상에 대한 엄격한 의식화와 친족강화를 위해 음택풍수의 담론이 성행하였다. 조선후기 풍수풍토의 사례지로 소개한 정씨 문중 선산은 경북 구미시 도개면 월림리에 위치한 야곡산에 있다. 이 야곡산은 팔공지맥의 서쪽 끝단에 위치하며, 주산이산을 통해 내려오는 내룡이 야곡산에서 현무정을 만든다. 야곡산은 풍수학에서‘야자형국(也字形局)’으로 분류되고 훌륭한 문장가를 배출한다고 해석한다. 야곡산의 청룡은 내청룡과 외청룡으로 분화하고 입향조는 중출맥의 우측 가지맥이 내려온 선상에 입지하였다. 산의 배면개념이 충실하게 반영한 장소로서 절묘한 위치이다. 이후 후손의 묘역은 적장자의 위계에 따라 차등적으로 조성되었다. 이와 같이 조선후기에 선택된 특정 문중의 묘역에서 유교적 효사상의 유지와 친족의 강화를 위해 풍수학이 적극 활용된 점을 확인할 수 있었다. Feng Shui in the Joseon Dynasty was considered superstition and despised because of the Neo-Confucian, although, it transmitted. We used Feng Shui to maintain the social view of the principle of the harmony and the paternity of the human nature of the Neo-Confucian. In the late Chosun Dynasty, the influence of Feng Shui was expanded due to the popularity of Feng Shui to the province familys and the all peoples. Through the articles of the Chosun dynasty a true record, the Feng Shui discourse in the center of Joseon dynasty was interpreted by focusing on the contiguous line of the mountains. The Feng Shui was used as a means of maintaining the authority of the legitimate sons through reinforcement of the Sarim power in the mid Joseon Dynasty and consciousness by the 『Chu Hsi's Family Rituals』. Such in the times, the high official and the peoples also carried out a lot of exhume and bury elsewhere, resulting in social a vice. And the social proliferation of '孝' ideology has spread to the people the discourse of negative Feng Shui, meanwhile, through the strict ceremony of sacrifice for the ancestors, the family was strengthened. 'Yagok Mountain', the graveyard of the Jung family, is a place located at the western end of Palgong Mountain, the mountain range descending from Sunsai Mountain makes the landscape of Mountain. The form of Yagok Mountain is classified as '也' aspect in Feng Shui, and this is the origin of a great stylist. The left ridge(靑龍) of Yagok Mountain is differentiated into the inside(內靑龍) and outside(外靑龍), and the first grave(入鄕祖) is on the contiguous line of a stratum descending from an important ridge(中出脈). It is an exquisite location as a place that faithfully reflects the concept of putting mountains on the back. Since then, the descendants were differentiated according to the hierarchy of the legitimate sons. In this way, it can be confirmed that the Feng Shui has been actively used for the maintenance of the Confucianism filial piety and the strengthening of the kinship in the cemetery of the particular family graveyard in the late Joseon Dynasty.
