This study was conducted to figure out environmental performance and the performance based economic value in order to confirm the value and necessity on the recycling technology of spent fluorescent lights. The comparison result of environmental impact of recycled six materials shows 1.33% of resource depletion, 3.23% of global warming, 1.70% of human toxicity, respectively. The assessment results of economic value of the environmental performance correspond to 266,000won/ton for six impact categories except toxicity. In addition, the environmental impact of recycling process can be improved by yield and energy efficiency increase.

This study has been conducted to evaluate environmental values of high acid value waste oil recycling technology and suggest improvement directions of the recycling technology. As the result of comparing with vegetable oil fatty acid methyl ester(FAME), total environmental impact of recycled FAME showed 96% of vegetable oil FAME. When considering each impact category, environmental impacts of recycled FAME appeared to 54%, 15%, 99% of resource depletion, global warming, and human toxicity. Reducing water usage and recycling waste water can lower the environmental impact of recycling process.

There have been many studies estimating the environmental damage cost for different areas. However, most studies focused on environmental issues even with reflecting social and environmental value, but the results could not show comparable indicators. This study has been conducted to investigate the economic value of environmental impact based on the LCA six impact categories in order to compare their values, such as resource depletion, global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, and photochemical oxidant creation. The result shows KRW 11,408/kg Sb, KRW 26.65/kg CO2, KRW 139,970/kg CFC-11, KRW 2,599/kg SO2, KRW 15,253/kg PO4(3-), and KRW 3,030/kg C2H4.

This study has been carried out to evaluate environmental values of a coal ash recycling technology and suggest directions for improving environmental performance of the recycling technology. As the results of comparing the global warming environmental impacts of 3 types of geopolymers produced by fly ash, middle ash, and bottom ash with the impact of portland cement, Fly ash geopolymer showed 19%, Middle ash geopolymer 51%, Bottom ash geopolymer showed 133% of the impact of portland cement. The impact of Bottom ash geopolymer can be improved by reducing water use and wastewater recycling. In the case of Fly ash geopolymer and Middle ash geopolymer, energy efficiency and sodium silicate input have been found as material factors. The limitation of this study is not to consider the value of new recycling material, additional burden of coal ash dumping, and low efficiency of small amount production of a development stage. It can be inferred that the actual environmental impact of geopolymers would be lower.

본 연구는 환경오염의 심각성이 날로 높아지는 오늘날, 지구전체에 막대한 환경영향을 미치는 건축물의 환경성을 제고하려는 노력과 그린빌딩으로 불리는 환경친화형 건축물의 평가기법 도입의 국제적 동향을 소개하고, 그린빌딩인증의 논리적기반으로서 전과정평가를 고찰함으로써 지속가능한 건축물의 개발활동과 운영의 합리적 방향을 제안하고자 수행되었다. 현재 전과정평가는 환경개산을 위한 가장 현실적인 대안으로 평가되고 있고 실제 건축물 환경성능 평가에도 많은 부분 활용되고 있다. 전과정평가와 그린빌딩인증의 보다 적극적인 접목을 위해선 향후 세부 데이터의 축적과 합리적인 제도의 운영이 요구되며, 설계 및 계획 단계에서 잠재적 영향을 통한 그린 빌딩인증은 실제 운영의 유효성을 확인하기 위한 사후관리 제도와 병행되어 수행되어야 할 것이다. As global environmental problems such as global warming and ozone depletion have more serious in these days, many researches are being done for building's impact on these problems. Under these circumstances, this study has been carried out to introduce the efforts of improving environmental performance of buildings that place enormous impact on global environment and to propose reasonable direction for development and operation of sustainable building via reviewing Life Cycle Assessment(LCA) as legitimate basis of an environmental friendly building, called Green Building. Recently, LCA has been accepted as the most logical method for environmental labelling and practically used in many parts of environmental assessment of buildings. To graft LCA to Green Building Certificate actively, preparation of specific data and reasonable administration of certificate system is highly needed. Green building Certificate which is performed against potential impact in design and planning phase also should so should go in parallel with the surveillance control to confirm effectiveness of practical operation.
