        Fortuny 텍스타일 디자인의 표현기법과 색채특성 연구

        Fortuny, active between the late 19th century and the mid 20th century, designed textiles based on styles and culture of the time, and used such distinctive colors that he came to be known as the alchemist of colors. He used metal as well as natural dyes to print and dye fabrics. This study aimed to examine Fortuny’s textile designs from the perspective of his expressive techniques and characteristics of his colors. Through his textile designs, Fortuny attempted to express the aesthetic consciousness of his time. An analysis of his expressive techniques showed that Fortuny used motifs and techniques typical of Art Nouveau. In terms of his textile design, Fortuny used organic curves and asymmetrical structures. A close look at characteristics of his colors revealed that Fortuny used leading colors of Art Deco as his dominant ones. He used metallic colors and Oriental arrangement of colors to demonstrate Art Deco characteristics in his textile designs. As seen above, Fortuny’s textile designs can serve as a prime example for the textile design development for contemporary designers, who have to integrate and recreate various forms of design based on artistic heritage and culture from the past while reflecting trends of the given period.

        견섬유의 정련을 활용한 천연염색 연구

        The modern society has been rapidly changing in the whole fields including society, culture and art by the expanding globalization and advanced science and technology. In accordance with the general change of social phenomenon, the consumers tend to pursue the individual characteristics and the images of independent tastes beyond the standard public culture and the new design has been created to get better satisfaction. Personality and the value of rarity in fashion industry have been gradually emphasized and the emotional, health-oriented and eco-friendly products have bee more requested. The fashion industry has been continuously investigating the high functional fabrics with highly added value by combining diversity and uniqueness of new materials and transforming or reapplying fabrics without being restricted to the development of designs and simple materials. For the natural dyeing using natural materials, the dyed goods can make natural colors and create soft and profound tones. Furthermore, the dyes used for natural dyeing have the antibacterial, deodorizing, insect-repellent, anti-allergic, soothing and aromatic ingredients. This paper proposes the creative design approach using the color difference as well as expressing texture, visual depth and figurative stability by Degumming through natural dyeing and features of silk, the natural material, which has been used as the material for eco-design which has been gradually highlighted in the 21st century. The dyeing experiment results before and after Degumming in natural dyeing are presented below. The new design can be developed using the emotional difference by Degumming. New materials can be developed using reduction ratio byDegumming. Accordingly, the design can be developed using the dyeing difference before and after Degumming, in addition the functional and eco-friendly materials can be design developed using a variety of colors based on the diversity of natural dyeing.

        얀 패브릭(Yarn Fabric)을 활용한 의상디자인 연구

        In the field of modern fashion, new cultures without boundaries have been formed on the foundation of a global age and prosperity. The real and virtual futures of fashion have also merged. In addition, fashion has built close ties with smart devices, and using high productivity and freedom of expression in multiple areas, fashion has established new paradigms. For these reasons, the textile industry has continued to keep up with the latest trends in high-tech, processed fabric and art wear design. The industry has also been setting the standard by giving unique personality to costume design, depending on features of different materials. In this study, costumes were designed through the mix and match of yarn fabric, reflecting materials and colors of the latest trends, with other fabrics. The study aims to present a unique material for customers seeking distinctive and creative design. The study took a theoretical look at the yarn necessary to make fabric, and also examined the use of alginate foil. It also investigated fashion trends required for production. Based on materials and colors in the latest fashion trends, alginate foil was used to build costumes.First, the mix and match using yarn fabric rendered the blend of transparent and opaque in yellow gradation. Second, the combination of yarn and swatch created classic elegance with a soft, tender image. Third, yarn and felt were used to demonstrate the harmony of the cool and the warm, and the shiny and the dull. Fourth, a vest made of yarn and silk showed a multidimensional effect through layers, while dyed silk created fantastic and dream-like sensations. Finally, the blend of yarn with PVC symbolized the integration of the past and the future. At an age when we can create and set trends using our own experience and personality, rather than follow others’ lead, a study is necessary in fashion on unique and creative design that brings together science, sensitivities and art.
