        CM전문회사의 현장관리조직 운영실태 분석

        신원상(Shin, Won-Sang),이강민(Lee, Kang-Min),손창백(Son, Chang-Baek) 대한건축학회 2014 大韓建築學會論文集 : 構造系 Vol.30 No.8

This study is aimed at offering basic data for enhancing the organizational structure and productivity of on-site construction management (CM) employees. To accomplish the objective, the organizational operation system and employee evaluation of domestic CM companies were analyzed by site scale to promote efficient operation. The findings are as follows. First, in terms of CM workforce, the employees handling architecture, electricity, and machines represented the highest proportion. As for qualification, top engineers were dispatched to both large-scale and small-scale CM sites more than any other employee. Second, the results on CM organizational productivity are as follows. The per capita sales increased as the service payment increased. In terms of scale, the site worth less than a billion won had per capita sales of 76 million won, about 5 times less than the site worth 5 billion won or more whose per capita sales were 371 million won. The monthly per capita sales also increased as the service payment increased. However, the difference was minimal, about a half of the difference in per capita sales. These findings would be useful for companies that have no systematic criteria for CM organization selection and evaluation.

Manpower issues heavily affect work efficiency and job satisfaction; directly resolving these issues requires establishing improvement measures to address the supply and demand of labor in each industry. The purpose of this study aims to address job satisfaction of female employees working in design offices. Upon analysis, research revealed that overall job satisfaction was at a normal range, although in major categories like personal environment, dissatisfaction levels were high. When examining the degree of dissatisfaction by position, it was discovered that assistant managers experienced the highest level of dissatisfaction followed by the employee section heads. Depending on current job satisfactory levels, many female employees were willing to change jobs or retire early. Particularly, competent female employees in lower-level design positions had the most potential to quit on short notice, undeniably contributing to future manpower issues. After examining the improvement requirements of female employees and reflecting on international benchmarking cases, a proposed plan targeting job satisfaction must first focus on personal environment then on workplace atmosphere and organizational culture. The results of this study can be used as basic data for related research topics; however, detailed analysis is limited due to the lack of various variables related to size, age, and gender. Therefore, a future follow-up study will be conducted to complement this topic of work satisfaction among female employees in current design firms.

        신원상(Shin, Won-Sang),손창백(Son, Chang-Baek) 대한건축학회 2018 大韓建築學會論文集 : 構造系 Vol.34 No.5

In order to seek out methods to reduce safety accidents caused by construction machinery and equipment, this study collects data about safety accidents and draws main risk factors by construction from the data, through SNA. It aimed to suggest safety management points to be used in future construction fields, by analyzing risk index of such factors. The finding can be summarized: First, Backhoe Bucket is the risk factor for crash accidents of average workers in earth works; boring machines-maintenance is the risk factor for fall accidents of construction machinery operators in foundation works; bending machine-reinforcing rod processing is the risk factor for jamming accidents of reinforcing rod engineers in frame works; and mobile crane-hook is the risk factor for crash accidents of average workers in lifting works. Second, works can be arranged in turn, according to the risk index: earth, lifting, frame and foundation works. Risk factors can be also arranged according to the risk index: Backhoe in earth works, pile drivers in foundation works, bending machines in frame works and mobile cranes in lifting works. This study has some limits, in that it only analyzed main machinery/equipment, among various kinds of them, for earth, foundation, frame and temporary works (lifting works) and used data collected over three years. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis using big data, by collecting additional data about a lot of machinery/equipment in future construction fields.

건설회사 기술인력의 직무스트레스 분석 및 해소방안

        신원상(Shin, Won-Sang),길민욱(Gil, Min-Wook),손창백(Son, Chang-Baek) 대한건축학회 2024 대한건축학회논문집 Vol.40 No.2

This study systematically measured and analyzed job stress among construction engineers in construction companies, differentiating between those based at headquarters and those at construction sites. The aim is to propose a plan to alleviate job stress and enhance the work efficiency of construction engineers in the future. The findings indicated elevated job stress levels for most construction engineers, regardless of their location. Notably, on-site construction engineers with suboptimal working conditions experienced comparatively higher job stress than their counterparts at headquarters. To effectively address job stress in the company, it is essential to allocate financial resources for stress relief activities. Simultaneously, a well-considered preliminary plan should be established to consistently identify stress-relieving activities with significant impact and tailor them to the specific needs of the construction engineers. These study results provide practical foundational data for addressing job stress among construction engineers in construction companies. However, it is important to acknowledge the studys limitations, as it does not present specific plans for job stress relief activities. Therefore, efforts are underway to address this limitation in subsequent studies.

        신원상(Shin, Won-Sang),손창백(Son, Chang-Baek) 대한건축학회 2021 대한건축학회논문집 Vol.37 No.11

In the rapidly changing social environment due to the recent development of technology, the importance of all working environments related to the improvement of workers quality of life is increasing due to changes in industrial structure and employment conditions. In particular, employment instability is rapidly increasing due to the long-term economic recession and restructuring, the demographic structure is rapidly changing due to aging population and falling fertility rates, and the gender gap between workers is narrowing as womens social advancement has recently expanded. As the paradigm of the job market changes, friction between labor and management is increasing every year, and a social atmosphere has been created that securing a work-life balance due to the improvement of the working environment is linked to corporate productivity and industrial competitiveness. Workers in the construction industry have been working in poorer working conditions than other industries since the past. In particular, it may be even worse for female construction engineers who have entered the construction industry where a male-oriented culture is established and are working. Therefore, this study analyzes the employment and working conditions of female construction engineers with relatively poor working environments, identifies gender discrimination that may occur in the male-oriented construction industry, and derives problems that are currently occurring for female construction engineers. In addition, it is intended to provide basic data for preparing specific policies in the future by grasping the requirements for improving the employment and working conditions of current female construction engineers.
