When a military vehicle is driven on a cross-country road, the occupants are exposed to vibration at a body resonance. In case that the exposure continues for too long period, the attention ability of the occupant could be affected by the vibration exposure. In the study, it was experimentally tried to find if there is a correlation between degradation of attention and vibration exposure. Two kinds of test among various psychological attention tests were employed, which were selected with considering a situation of carrying out military mission on vehicle. At the result, the searching test for controlled attention showed significant degradation in the accuracy and performance time in case of exposure at the vibration. And the attention degradation appeared to be greater when the vibration exposure increases. The dual task test for divided attention showed the difference between vibration and non-vibration condition, but showed it is insignificant for the attention to degrade by increasing exposure time.

A test driver of military vehicle is excessively exposed to shock and vibration during durability test on cross-country test road at development stage. The excessive shock and vibration might cause health problem of the test driver, by which the driving speed can be moderated away from original purpose. In this study, The vibration on seat cushion and seat track was measured when a test driver operates a military vehicle in three velocity modes on cross-country test road. And Health effect of the vibration was estimated by ISO 2631-1. It is found that amount of vibration exposure increased and health effect deteriorated as increase of velocity. It is useful to design effective vehicle durability test modes with the results found in this study.

When driving military vehicle on cross-country, the vibration exposure can cause attention degradation of drivers. So, drivers can not perform normally mission. Therefore, by analyzing the change in the attention of drivers during cross-country driving, it is necessary to predict the mission capability of drivers. In this paper, the change in the attention of drivers for vibration exposure time during cross-country driving was analyzed based on the vibration exposure amount measured by driving military vehicle in the cross-country test road of Chang-won testing ground by using attention test application.
