지식경영의 핵심 성공요인 : 기업규모 및 업종별 비교연구

본 연구의 주된 목적은 지식경영의 핵심성공요인을 실증적으로 분석하고, 기업규모 및 업종별로 요인간의 상대적인 중요도를 비교하기 위한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로 첫째, 선행요인들에서 제시된 지식경영의 성공요인들을 종합적으로 취합하여 핵심적인 성공요인을 도출하고, 둘째, 도출된 지식경영의 성공요인을 국내기업을 대상으로 실증적으로 확인하며, 셋째, 기업규모 및 업종별로 이들 지식경영 성공요인들 간의 상대적인 중요도를 비교 분석하는 일 등이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 국내의 대표적인 지식경영 추진기업 30개사(대기업 18개사와 중소기업 12개사, 제조업 12개사와 비제조업 18개사 포함)에 근무하고 있는 921명의 종업원을 대상으로 설문조사방법에 의한 실증적 연구를 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 지식경영의 핵심성공요인으로 최고경영자의 의지, 평가보상, 조직문화, 지식관리시스템, 조직구조 등 다섯 가지 요인이 도출되었다. 둘째, 국내기업을 대상으로 한 이들 요인에 대한 실증적인 분석 결과 5개요인 모두가 정도의 차이는 있으나 공통적인 지식경영의 성공요인으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 이들 요인의 기업규모별 중요도는 대기업의 경우 최고경영자의 의지, 조직문화, 평가보상, 지식관리시스템과 조직구조(동순위) 순이었고, 중소기업에서의 중요도 순위는 최고경영자의 의지, 조직문화, 평가보상, 지식관리시스템, 조직구조 순이었다. 업종별 연구에서는 제조업의 경우 최고경영자의 의지, 조직문화, 평가보상, 지식관리시스템과 조직구조(동순위) 순이었고, 비제조업은 최고경영자의 의지와 조직문화(동순위), 평가보상, 지식관리시스템과 조직구조(동순위)의 순으로 상대적인 중요도를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. The purpose of this study is to find critical success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms, and to confirm them empirically, and to verify the relative importance of them in company size and industry type. The major studies on the knowledge management were deliberately selected and interpretively analyzed to find the critical success factors of Korean firms. As a result of the analysis, five critical success factors(top management's will, evaluation-reward, organizational culture, knowledge management system, organizational structure) of knowledge management have been found. The empirical researches to identify whether the above five factors derived are actually true or not have been separately done by using questionnaire method. Based on the data collected, it is found that all of five factors are the success ones : top management's will, organizational culture, evaluation-reward, knowledge management system and organizational structure are empirically significant in samples. It can be said, therefore, that the five factors are common or general success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms. Totally, the degree of relative importance among the critical success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms has been found as following : ① top management's will, ② organizational culture, ③ evaluation-reward, ④ knowledge management system & organizational structure. In company size, large firm's degree of relative importance among the critical success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms has been found as following: ① top management's will, ② organizational culture, ③evaluation-reward, ④ knowledge management system & organizational structure. And medium-small firm's degree of relative importance among the success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms has been found as following : ① top management's will, ② organizational culture, ③ evaluation-reward, ④ knowledge management system ⑤ organizational structure. Finally, in type of industry, manufactural firm's degree of relative importance among the critical success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms has been found as following: ① top management's will, ② organizational culture, ③evaluation -reward, ④ knowledge management system & organizational structure. And non-manufactural firm's degree of relative importance among the success factors of knowledge management in Korean firms has been found as following : ① top management's will & organizational culture, ② evaluation-reward, ③ knowledge management system & organizational structure.

본 연구의 주된 목적은 한국기업의 지식경영 성공요인을 경험적으로 확인하기 위한 것으로, 구체적으로는 첫째, 지식경영의 성공요인들을 취합 ·분석하여 지식경영의 성공요인을 새롭게 도출하는 일, 둘째, 한국기업을 대상으로 도출된 지식경영의 성공요인을 실증적으로 확인하는 일, 셋째, 이들 지식경영 성공요인들간의 상대적인 중요도를 확인하는 일 등이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 문헌상의 지식경영의 성공요인들을 취합하여 정리하고인벤토리를 작성 · 분석함으로써 지식경영의 성공요인을 새롭게 유도하여 제시하였고, 제시된 성공요인들에 대하여 지식경영을 시행하는 한국의 대표적인 대기업과 중소기업 등 10개사를 대상으로 양적인 방법을 사용하여 분석함과 동시에, 지식경영 성공요인들간의 상대적인 중요도를 분석하였는데. 이에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지식경영의 성공요인으로서 본 연구에서는 최고경영자의 의지, 평가보상, 조직문화, 지식관리시스템, 조직구조 등 모두 다섯 가지 요인이 도출되었다. 둘째, 한국기업을 대상으로 한 이들 요인에 대한 실증적인 분석 결과 최고경영자의 의지, 평가보상, 조직문화, 지식관리시스템과 조직구조 등이 정도의 차이는 있으나 한국기업에서의 공통적인 지식경영의 성공요인으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 한국기업을 대상으로 확인된 이들 지식경영의 성공요인들간의 상대적인 중요도는 최고경영자의 의지, 조직문화, 평가보상, 지식관리시스템 순으로 확인되었다.
