개발도상국 신재생에너지 시장진출을 위한투자환경 유형 구분

본 연구에서는 최근 신재생에너지분야의 신성장동력으로 주목받고 있는 개발도상국 시장의 투자환경을 대표적 특성에 따라 유형화 하고자 하였다. 분석 데이터로는 Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), UK Department for International Development, Power Africa, Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF)에서 공동으로 연구하여 55개 주요 개발도상국의신재생에너지 개발환경을 평가하여 발행하는 ‘Climate Scope 2015’ 의 평가지수들(신재생에너지 개발계획, 투자 및 자금조달 현황, 신재생에너지산업 가치사슬, 온실가스 관리 활동)을이용하였으며, K-means 군집분석방법을 이용하여 군집분석을 수행하였다. ‘Climate Scope 2015’는 각 세부 평가항목을 조합하여 하나의 지수를 만들고 국가별 순위를 내는 것에 목적이 있으나, 본 연구에서는 이 평가항목들을 기준으로 개발도상국 투자환경을 세분화 하여군집을 구성함으로써 진출지원정책 수립 시 전략적 접근에 도움이 될 수 있도록 하였다. 분석결과로 55개 개발도상국들이 아시아의 유망 국가들을 중심으로 한 군집과, 아프리카의유망 국가들을 중심으로 한 군집, 그리고 신재생에너지 산업환경이 열악한 두 개의 군집으로나뉘어 총 4개의 군집으로 유형화 되었으며, 각 군집별로 평균적 특성이 제시되었다. This study aims at differentiate renewable energy markets in developing countries using K-means clustering analysis. As a data for empirical analysis, the clean energy country competitiveness index from ‘Climate Scope 2015’ which is released by Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), UK Department for International Development, Power Africa and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) is used. The ‘Climate Scope 2015’ presents various kinds of indices about enabling framework, clean energy investment, low-carbon business and green house gas management activities in 55 major developing countries and ranked on a scale of overall renewable energy investment environment based on these indices. This study differentiate renewable energy markets in developing countries using clustering analysis based on these indices, and as a results, 55 developing countries segmented into 4 segments. On the basis of these 4 segments, several implications for tailored renewable energy foreign investment policies. are presented at the conclusion.
