In this study, the evaluation items to be applied to the common vent demonstration experiment were derived through domestic and international standards analysis related to the common vent of the stationary fuel cell systems. The backflow blocking device, the exhaust gas temperature limiting device, safety of burner control, material of exhaust pipe, air tightness and airflow test, etc., were derived. The common vent and the joint vent should be designed and kept airtight so that the exhaust gas from each individual system can be normally exhausted. In order to propose a suitable structure of a common vent and a common exhaust port for fuel cells, it is an important factor to test whether the leakage of the exhaust gas from the common vent, the airtightness of each individual system is maintained, and the durability test of the backflow blocking devices to be installed in a single exhaust port. In this study, the safety standard to be applied to common vent of building fuel cell system was analyzed and an demonstration system prototype was designed. As a result of this study, we think that it will be helpful to activate fuel cell diffusion.
