The EL(electroluminescence) called next generation display was actively researched because of entering of TFT-LCD into TV market and growth of the PDP TV at the display industry. EL may be classified into organic EL and inorganic EL depending upon use of luminescence materials including carbon. The inorganic EL required consumption power about One third less than light emitting diode, and supplied light evenly than LED. And, the inorganic EL had advantages such as long lifetime because of less heat production, long length and thin thickness and no damage at bending. The inorganic EL was used for only single color back light, while the organic EL had various colors, quick response rate and dynamic images. The organic EL did not distribute luminance evenly in accordance with the electrode length to be much ineffective at the use of image back light. The study investigated the best luminance conditions by changing electrode length. The study examined the luminance distribution of each different electrode length after changing the EL sheet to AC 100V and 200Hz~1kHz. The findings were as follows: When short length of electrode emitted light at same area, the resistance passing through the EL fluorescence increased to reduce luminance. The EL sheet had advantages of cutting in various shapes to improve image effects as much as possible. Therefore, to distribute luminance evenly, various sizes of EL sheets having electrodes at circumference were demanded to produce.
