Analytical model is derived for the far-field acoustic radiation from machinery installed inside cylindrical shell. The analytical model includes the effect of fluid loading and interactions between periodic ring supports. Transmitted force from machine to a shell can be different by the impedance of shell. In this paper the transmitted force from machinery to a infinite shell through vibration isolator is considered by the impedance of shell. The effect of the shell impedance for acoustic radiation is investigated.

This paper investigates the underwater acoustic radiation from a periodically stiffened cylindrical shell excited resiliently mounted machinery. Underwater acoustic radiation is important to a submarine. Generally, submarine structure can be modeled as stiffened cylindrical shell immersed in water. Analytical model is derived for the far-field acoustic radiation from machinery installed inside cylindrical shell. The analytical model includes the effect of fluid loading and interactions between periodic ring stiffeners. Transmitted force from machine to a shell through isolator can be different by the impedance of shell. In this paper the effect of a shell impedance for acoustic radiation is investigated. Impedance of a shell should be considered if thickness of a shell is thin.

Underwater radiated noise of submarine is key performance of the stealth capability. To reduce underwater radiated noise of submarines, raft systems can be installed in the submarines. Tuned mass damper can be used to reduce structureborne noise of the raft which is supported by resilient mounts. In this study, tuned mass dampers is installed in a raft, the structureborne noise reduction performance of the raft is presented by experimentally and analytically. As results of test, the structurebrone noise reduced at all mount of the raft.

Submarine is detected by its underwater radiated noise. Machinery is major source of underwater radiated noise of submarine. Generally submarines are designed to not be identical between exciting frequencies of machinery and resonant frequency of structure. This paper presents the trade-off study for tuned mass damper(TMD) which is tuned off resonance frequency of structure to be controlled, tuned in non-resonance bandwidth for applying submarine. The vibration attenuation effect of structure with TMD is verified experimentally in case of TMD on and off. TMD which is tuned in non-resonance bandwidth shows the vibration reduction and response change of structure.

In this paper, the general equation of motion of damped sandwich beam with multi-viscoelastic material layer was derived based on the equation presented by Mead and Markus. The viscoelastic layer, which has characteristics of complex shear modulus, was assumed to be dominantly under shear deformation. The equation of motion of n-layered damped sandwich beam in bending could be represented by (n+3)th order ordinary differential equation. Finite element model for the n-layered damped sandwich beam was formulated and programmed using higher order shape functions. Several numerical examples were implemented to show the effects of damped material.
복합단면을 갖는 비 감쇠 보 구조물의 유한요소 고유치 해석

보 구조물의 고유치 해석의 경우 보 이론에 근거한 기존의 다양한 방법들을 통해 효율적이고 수월하게 수행이 가능하다. 하지만 보의 단면이 두 가지 이상의 복합재질로 구성되어 있을 경우 전통적인 보 이론을 적용하기 위해서는 단일의 등가 물성을 산출해야할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 복합단면 보 구조물의 효율적인 유한요소 고유치 해석을 위해 등가의 물성을 산출하였다. 이론 연구를 토대로 개발한 연구용 프로그램으로 대표적인 보 구조물에 대한 유한요소 고유치 해석을 수행하였으며, 해석결과에 대한 신뢰성 검증을 위해 상용 소프트웨어인 ANSYS의 3차원 솔리드 모델의 해석결과와 비교하였다. Numerical eigen analysis of beam-like structure can be easily and effectively done by various conventional beam theory-based methods. However, in case of the structures composed of composite-sectioned beams, the application of conventional numerical methods requires one to derive both equivalent material and geometry properties. In the present paper, these equivalent properties are derived by the transformed section method and the test FEM program is coded. The numerical accuracy of the proposed method is verified through the comparison with the ANSYS 3-D model.
