        Spring Operating Mechanism(SOM) of circuit breakers in High voltage class has characteristics of high power, high speed and long-term waiting time. Thus, the mechanical dynamic behavior of circuit breaker is significantly affected by these kinds of the characteristics. In the case of a dashpot system in the SOM, it has been used to reduce the impact force at the end of mechanical operation especially. Also this system has influenced the electrical and mechanical safety performance. Therefore, it is significantly important to predict and evaluate the damping characteristic of the SOM in the initial development stage of the circuit breaker. In this paper, the developed 1D simulation model for dashpot with spring operating mechanism is introduced and correlation results between analysis and test are reviewed.

        上海港의 浮上과 釜山港의 對應方案

        In the midst of rapidly changing seaborne transportation industry, the container liners are consolidating into bigger multinational groups and the enlargement trend of container vessels is common.<br/> The continuing growth and development of regional hub ports is particularly notable and regional ports in north-east asia strive to gain a competitive-edge.<br/> Especially, the port of Shanghai which has experienced several years of rapid growth is now the world's seventh busiest container gateway and heading for an entry in the top five container handling port within the next two-to-three years.<br/> Longer-term, the port of Shanghai has aspirations of taking over from Hong Kong as the largest container handling port in the world.<br/> In this circumstance, the port of Pusan should modernize stevedoring equipments, expecially new high -performance container cranes and expand quay length and dredge water depth to 15m or above in order to compete with other major ports in north-east asia.<br/> The port of Pusan needs a policy which extends free time of container storage in terminal to secure transshipment cargoes and offers discount of charges for them, and it also needs to develop the teleport in port areas or adjacent areas to provide the big carriers and big shippers and consignees with trustworthy and satisfactory informations and communication services.<br/> Furthermore it needs to strengthen port sales and open events regularly to attract potential carriers or big shippers.<br/> Finally, it needs to establish Pusan port authority which controls a wide range of port operations smoothly and to complete new Pusan port project urgently to supply the big carriers with the exclusive use of berth and to make distribution facilities in its hinterland.

        21世紀 東北亞 中心港灣으로서의 機能强化를 위한 方案

        It seems inevitable that 1998 will be characterized by still further consolidating in the container liner shipping industry, as companies seek to survive by writing out more costs from their operations.<br/> In the midst of rapidly changing seaborne transportation industry, the container liner shipping industry is consolidating into bigger multinational grouping.<br/> Increasingly, this will mean mergers between key players, rather than alliances among large operators. For it is becoming clear that the alliances between major lines cannot deliver the cost savings that had been predicted by their participants when such global partnerships were announced in 1995.<br/> The continuing growth and development of regional hub ports is particularly notable and regional ports in North-East Asia strive to gain a competitive-edge.<br/> In this circumstance, to strengthen the functions as hub port in North-East Asia in the twenty-first century, following devices are suggested.<br/> First, in response to the enlargement trend of vessels worldwide, it is necessary to expand quay length and to dredge water depth to 14m or above.<br/> Second, in order to compete with the advanced ports, the container terminal should be added modernized stevedoring equipments, especially new high-performance gantry cranes with double hoist systems and 18-row outreach.<br/> Third, it is necessary to develop container terminals which have a connected metropolitan container transportation structure consisting of urban expressways, road networks, railroad networks and feeder services in order to meet the growing demand for just-in-time delivery to customers directly from the port.<br/> Fourth, it needs a policy which extends free time of container storage in On Dock CY to secure more cargoes and offers discount of charges for transshipment cargoes, especially.<br/> Fifth, the exclusive use of berth is needed to attract major carriers.

        동북아 물류환경변화에 따른 부산항의 경쟁력 강화 방안

        With trend of container ships becoming larger and faster, the environment surrounding ports in North-East Asia is rapidly changing. Korea's largest port of Busan processed more than 10 million 20- feet equivalent containers in 2003, surpassing the 10-million TEU mark for the first time in its three decades of operation. However, the Port of Busan , the world's third-largest port in 2002, was eclipsed by Shanghai since July in 2003. The first massive strike of truckers crippled the Korea's logistics system in May and in September, the Port of Busan suffered from the second strike of truckers and damage by a powerful typhoon.<br/> By contrast, the port of Shenzhen in China increased its container-processing volume by 39.9 percent to 10.65 million TEU in 2003, and Shanghai, which passed Busan in terms of container volume in the middle of last year, further consolidated its position as the world's No. 3 port with an annual volume of 11.28 million TEU. After all, Busan recorded an annual container volume of 10.40 million TEU, slipping to fifth in rankings in 2003 and Busan's bid to become a Northeast Asian hub has suffered a further setback as these chinese ports overtook the port of Busan. But the port of Busan is located in the main trunk liking North America, Europe and South-East Asia. Once the project of Busan Newport is accomplished and the railway between South and North Korea is connected to TCR and TSR, the Port of Busan will have the most potential to become the international logistics center as the starting point of the land and sea routes encompassing all over the world.

        釜山港의 換積貨物 誘致增大 方案

        In the midst of rapidly changing seaborne transportation industry, the container liners are consolidating into bigger multinational groups and the enlargement trend of container vessels is common.<br/> The continuing growth and development of regional hub ports is particularly notable and regional ports in North-East Asia strive to gain a competitive-edge.<br/> In this circumstance, to increase transhipment cargoes of the port of Pusan following devices are suggested.<br/> First, in response to the enlargement trend of container vessels worldwide, it is necessary to expand stacking areas and develop more container terminals. And the budget should be invested to port development continuous]y because it needs ]arge scale investments and its construction takes a long time.<br/> Second, the container terminal should be added modernized stevedoring equipments, expecially new high -performance gantry cranes.<br/> Third, port authority needs to own and operate a wide range of warehousing and distribution facilities for value-added distribution activities and if it is possible, government needs to designate Free Trade Zone to facilitate the free flow of cargoes<br/> Fourth, it needs to develop the EDI network in terminal areas or adjacent hub ports to exchange trustworthy and satisfactory information and communication services.<br/> Fifth, it needs a policy which extends free time of container storage in terminal to secure more cargoes and offers discount of charges for cargoes.<br/> Sixth, the exclusive use of berth is needed to attract major carriers.<br/> Finally, it need to strengthen port sales and open events regularly to attract potential carriers or big shippers.

      • 중국 경제의 급부상에 따른 부산항의 발전전략

        The China entered World Trade Oganization(WTO) last year, thus opening its border to more - and freer - trade. With its foreign trade rapidly expanding and with economic growth continuing at a substantial rate, China will be the largest container traffic generating country in the world.<br/> In the light of this potential trade bonanza, regional ports in North-East Asia strive to gain a competitive-edge. The Port of Busan, the world's third largest container port, wants to capture a significant share of the china's container cargoes.<br/> In this circumstance, development strategies of the Port of Busan are suggested as follows. First, to cope with increasing volumes, the New Busan Port on Gaduk island should be constructed without failure. Second, it is necessary to add modernized high-performance gantry cranes and to train crane operators' skill. Third, it needs to apply Dwell Time Sliding Scale System for transshipment cargoes. Fourth, it needs to develop the EDI network in terminal areas or adjacent hub ports to exchange trustworthy and satisfactory informations Fifth, port authority needs to enlarge designated Free Trade Zone to facilitate the free flow of cargoes. Sixth, the restoration of rail links between North and South Korea is abundantly clear. Thus it needs to enlarge railroad facilities in advance. Seventh, it needs to establish the Port Authority of Busan immediately. Finally, it needs to strengthen port sales and to open events like 'Marine Week 2001' regularly to attract potential carriers or big shippers.

      • 1자유도·등가모델을 이용한 병열기구형 서스펜션 시트 시스템의 진동 승차감 해석

        In this paper, an equivalent 1-D.O.F mass-spring-damper model of a parallel mechanism suspension seat system was constructed for the purpose of its ride and vibration analysis. The equivalent spring and damping constants were calculated from the kinematic equations of the parallel suspension mechanism. Vertical vibration response and transmissibility of the equivalent model due to base excitation, which is defined in the seat vibration test codes of ISO, were computed. Furthermore seat excitation test and measurement were also carried out. Both analytical and experimental results showed good agreement each other. Accordingly the equivalent 1 D.O.F model can be successfully adopted in the vertical vibration and ride analysis of the parallel mechanism suspension seat systems.<br/>

        Sliding friction forces are generated by translation motion of a moving conduct during a current breaking in a gas insulated circuit breaker(GCB) and these frictional forces cause a reduction of the circuit breaker performance. Thus, a prediction of the normal forces(N) and the coefficient of frictions(μ) for the components is the most important factor in the design of circuit breaker. In this study, test equipment is constructed for evaluating the frictional force of the canted coil spring. The normal force (N) by compression and the frictions (F) by sliding are evaluated as well. Lastly, the test result by using the equipment is compared with an experimental result by the GIS to confirm the effectiveness of the test device.
