항공기용 Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger 내부의 fuel icing 방지법 개발을 위한 시험 장비 구축

The present study aims to enhance the FOHE (Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger) fuel icing tolerance. Fuel icing can occur in the fuel feed pipe and this accumulation can be suddenly released causing transient snowshower to arrive at the front face of heat exchanger. This study has focused on the ice blockage phenomena in the FOHE manifold header. To develop anti-icing and de-icing techniques, the test facility was established including cooling chamber, fuel pump, waste system, water injection unit and measurement system. The test facility can cool jet fuel down to -50℃ within 5 hours and supply sufficient engine flow rate condition with injecting water in order to generate snowball. The pressure difference through the test section was measured in order to validate the ice blockage in the inlet part of FOHE header.
