N/A An ACR/HMMM film was prepared by blending high-solid ACR with curing agent, hexamethoxymethyl melamine (HMMM). An active curing reaction was observed at 170℃. The dynamic viscoelastic T_g of the final film increased with the static viscoelastic T_g of the film. The log damp value, which means a viscoelastic ratio, decreased with the increase in the curing temperature of the film. Physical properties of the films were within a suitable range for films, and by an accelerated weathering resistance test the films were proved weather resistible ones.

N/A Acidic degreasing agent(AADA) was prepared by blending sorbitol, Newpol PE-68, Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate, Tetronix T-701, MJU-100A, n-octanoic acid, and phosphoric acid, The physical properties of AADA tested with aluminum specimen shdhowed the following results ; when 3wt% AADA-5 was performed at 70℃, the degreasing rate was 95% which is comparitively good, and the percentage of etching was 0.277% which was found to be less than that of commercialized product. when 20wt% of AADA-5 was added at 65℃, the percentage of derusting was 91% and the good defoaming effect proved by following low foaming power tests respectively : Ross and Miles, and Ross and Clark methods.

To prepare the good-adherent and weather-resistant acrylic resin coatings, acrylic resin was prepared by a radical polymerization. Glass transition temperature(Tg) of the acrylic copolymer was fixed at 30℃ and the contents of tertiary amine monomer(DMAEMA) was varied to be 5, 10, 15, 20 wt% respectively. γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS) containing epoxy group was used for curing agents and di-n-butyltindilaurate(DBTDL) was used for drying accelerator. The equivalent ratio of amine to epoxy was 1:1. The prepared coatings exhibited excellent adhesion to various substrates, and various physical properties of the coatings were satisfactory. The gloss retention and color difference were improved at low tertiary amine concentration. The coatings containing 10wt% tertiary amine concentration have especially good weather resistant properties.

To prepare the waterborne silicone acrylic resin coatings, acrylic resin was prepared by a radical polymerization. Glass transition temperature(Tg) of the acrylic copolymer was fixed at 30℃ and the contents of tertiary amine monomer(DMAEMA), were varied to be 5, 10, 15 and 20 wt%, hydroxyl monomer, and carboxyl monomer were fixed 10 wt%, and 4 wt% respectively. γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS) containing epoxy group was used for curing agents. The eqivalent ratio of amine to epoxy was 1:1. The prepared coatings exhibited excellent adhesion to various substrates, and various physical properties of the coatings were satisfactory. The gloss retension and color difference were improved at low tertiary amine concentration. The coatings containing 10wt% tertiary amine concentration have especially good weather resistant properties.

To prepare polyurethane coatings for top coatings of automobiles, acrylic resins containing 75% of solids were synthesized by a radical polymerization. The viscosity of the acrylic resins was increased with increasing OH values. Crosslinked acrylic-urethane clear coatings were obtained by curing reaction between the synthesized acrylic resins and hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI) trimer(Desmodur N-3600). The physical properties from the following studies were carried out : viscosity(Zahn cup #2), adhesion, pensil hardness, and 60°specular gloss. Various properties of the acrylic-urethane clear coatings as top coatings of mobile coat were evaluated on the coating specimens. Adhesion property to a substrate, 60° specular gloss, and pencil hardness of prepared paint showed quite good properties.

N/A Two-component polyurethane flame retardant coatings (ATTBC) were prepared by blending polyisocyante (TDI-adduct) with ATTBs mentioned at the previous paper. Most of the physical properties of the flame retardant coatings were comparable to those of non-flame retardant coatings. Especially, the hardness, impact resistance, and accelerated weathering resistance were remarkably improved with the increase of the content of 1.4-butanediol. Coatings containing 10 and 15 wt% 1.4-butanediol, ATTBC-10C and ATTBC-15C, were not flammable in vertical fame-retardancy test. Their char area recorded 1.1∼11.6cm^2 in 45。 eckel bumer method.

고형분 70% 아크릴수지를 합성하기 위해 n-butyl methacrylate(BMA), methyl methacrylate(MMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(2-HEMA) 및 acetoacetoxyethyl acrylate(AAEA)와 caprolactone acrylate(CLA)를 사용하여 공중합체의 유리전이온도(T g )를 50 ℃로 조정하여 합성하였으 며, 합성한 아크릴수지의 점도와 분자량은 수산기가(OH values)의 증가에 따라 증가되었다. 높은 고형 분의 아크릴수지 합성에 적합한 반응개시제는 di-tert-amyl peroxide 이었으며, 최적의 합성조건은 반응 개시제 5 wt%, 연쇄이동제 4 wt%, 반응온도 140 ℃에서 적하시간은 4시간이었다. 합성수지의 구조는 FT-IR과 1 H-NMR spectroscopy로 확인하였고, 수평균 분자량은 1900~2600, 분자량 분포도 1.4~2.1 을 얻었다. 합성한 아크릴수지와 무황변성 폴리이소시아네이트인 hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer(Desmodur N-3300)의 NCO/OH 당량비를 1.2/1.0으로 조절하여 아크릴-우레탄 투명도료를 제조하였다. 도료의 물리적 특성으로 점도, 부착성, 건조시간, 가사시간, 연필경도 및 광택을 비교 검토한 결과 부착성, 건조시간, 가사시간, 연필경도 및 광택이 양호한 결과를 나타내었고, 특히 CLA를 10 % 도입한 도료는 부착성이 우수하고 낮은 점도와 높은 경도를 나타내었다. To prepare acrylic resin coatings containing 70% of solids, we used n-butyl methacrylate(BMA), methyl methacrylate(MMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(2-HEMA), and acetoacetoxyethyl acrylate(AAEA), caprolactone acrylate(CLA) as raw materials, the glass transition temperature(T g ) of acrylic copolymer was adjusted around 50 ℃. The viscosity and molecular weight of the acrylic resins was increased with increasing OH values. Di-tert-amyl peroxide was found to be the suitable initiator to get high-solids acrylic resins. The optimum reaction conditions found in the study are 5 wt% of initiator, 4 wt% of chain transfer agent, 4 hrs of dropping time, and 140 ℃ of reaction temperature. The structure of the synthesized resins were characterized by FT-IR and 1 H-NMR spectroscopy. Number average molecular weight of 1900~2600 and molecular wight distribution of 1.4~2.1 were obtained. Crosslinked acrylic urethane clear coatings were obtained by curing reaction between the synthesized acrylic resins and hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer(Desmodur N-3300), the equivalent ratio of NCO/OH was 1.2/1.0. The physical properties from the following studies were carried out: viscosity(Zahn cup #2), adhesion, drying time, pot-life, pensil hardness, and 60° specular gloss. Various properties of the acrylic urethane clear coatings were also evaluated on the coating specimens. Adhesion property to a substrate, drying time, pot-life, pencil hardness, and 60° specular gloss of prepared paint showed quite good properties. Futhermore, prepared paint containing 10% of CLA showed quite good properties for adhesion, low viscosity and high hardness.

N/A Two PU flame-retardant coatings, 2,3-DBPO/N-100 (DBPON) and 2,3-DBPO/IL (DBPOI), were prepared by curing 2,3-dibromo modified polyester (2,3-DBPO) with isocyanate curing agent Desmodur N-100 (or Desmodur IL) at room temperature. The physical properties and flame-retardancy of the two coatings were tested and compared. As a result, the pot-life, yellowness index, lightness index difference, 60˚ specular gloss, cross-hatch adhesion, viscosity, and accelerated weathering resistance of DBPON were better than those of DBPOI; the fineness of grind of the two coatings were the same; and the drying time, hardness, and abrasion resistance of DBPOI were better than those of DBPON. The flame retardancy of the flame-retardant coatings increased with the content of the flame retarding component, 2,3-dibromopropanoic acid (2,3-DBP); and the LOI values of the two coatings were in a range of 27∼29% when the content of 2,3-DBP was 30wt%.
