This paper introduces how the flange surface angle of the flange bolt affects the preload. Flange bolts, which is commonly used for tightening the chassis of a vehicle, have a certain angle on its flange surface to secure the contact surface of the flange and the relative parts when seated regardless of the dispersion of the surface angle. In this study, the relationship between flange angle and the preload for each cases of different surface angle will be described through preload measurements.

The loosening robustness of the hardware for the coupling of each part in the suspension is an important factor for passenger safety. For this reason we have designed suspension fasteners in consideration of factors that affect the loosening in advance. There are several factors that affect hardware loosening, including coefficient of surface friction, thread friction, tightening torque, axial force and equivalent diameter, etc. There is a difference in bolt bearing surface angle depending on the process capability of each flange bolt manufacturer, and in this study, we checked how hardware loosening effect changes depending on flange bolt bearing surface angle
