The Rolling Stock pursues more safe, speedy and accurate operation on the increment of the passenger and the short headway. Signalling system is providing an assurance on safety and reliability of the system, which is based on fail-safe concept. Therefore we are willing to study up on MMI device for new onboard ATP/ATO equipment which is used for driver to recognize train status and fault more quickly and to solve any problem more rapidly, which can maximize the stability and reliability of the system.

Existing ATC/ATO/TWC system has a ATC(Automatic Train Control) antenna for receiving the speed code, a ATO(Automatic Train Operation) antenna for obtaining the exact distance to go to platform and TWC(Train and Wayside Communication) antenna for communication between on-board and wayside system. This paper proposes the ATO/TWC antenna with tele-powering module, telegram transmitter/receiver module. This antenna communicates with a passive type tag(wayside Precision Stop Marker) for the information of distance from the stop position and a active type tag for the door command and status in the platform.

The new technology with Wireless LAN (WLAN) is implemented to the railway system, which is attached importance to safety and reliability. Railway control system based on WLAN that is called CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) is being developed by the advanced nations in this field and The system is applied to a new train line and a renovation for outworn equipment. The CBTC system has many merits about increase of capacity, reduction of headway and cost reduction etc.. Therefore, that is come into spotlight to the advanced railway company and the companies have being developed the system. So, we have developed the CBTC system for standardization and localization of the railway signal system.

This on-board signaling system has been designed with a priority on safety. The system has been devised for both safety, and also the efficiency of train operation. The Importance of signaling system is gradually being recognized with the continuous rise of operating speed and transporting density. Until now, the adaptation of signaling system was totally dependent on foreign signaling companies, as it was difficult to be accessed by domestic technology. But, successful commercial operation of the ATC/ATO system, which is adopted in the development of Kwangju Line No.1 , heralds the use of domestic technology, which will be the basis of all future domestic signaling systems.

The Emergency Exit System is evacuation equipment that operated by crew or passenger when emergency state such as fire, accident, etc in the rolling stock. Generally front emergency exit is installed in the drivers area and it is isolated to passenger area, so its design is little big easy. But front emergency exit that is installed in driverless vehicle have to consider not only anti-vandalism and failure but also its design because it is installed in the passenger area. Therefore, we survey the characteristic, function and needed condition the emergency front exit of driverless vehicle and present the developing system that can be a help to make design.

The head lights is the device that the driver can see the object on the rail or check the emergency situation when the train is operated at night or in the tunnel, and also the head light is indicating the forward direction of the train. Generally, The sealed beam halogen type head lights for the rolling stock have been used, but the problems that are short life and the generatoin of heat have been brought about because the head lihgts of rolling stock are supposed to operated continuously long time, and high power consumption. So, the development of new type of head lights has been requested in order to solve these problems. And recently the various LED type lights have been developed and LED type head lights for rolling stock also has been developed. Therefore, we survey the characteristic, function and needed condition of the LED type head lights for rolling stock and present the developing system that can be a help to make design.
