The instable oil price makes seek the more efficient energy machine and energy system. CHP(combined heat and power) system is the most favorable alternative choice among the energy saving systems but the severe emission regulation for the CHP system is an another challenge thing. Because of the need for the Ultra Low NOx CHP system, the efforts for reducing the toxic emission including NOx and CO are continuously investigated. The cogeneration hybrid system was developed by the need for the low NOx CHP system at the previous work, but the huge amount of the total fuel considering conventional CHP system, the after-burner which is a component of the cogeneration hybrid system was optimized to minimize the fuel consumption. In this experiment, the after-burner was re-optimized by the fuel supply minimization and engine exhaust gas-fuel flow distribution optimization. All the condition was optimized and adjusted to meet the exhaust gas condition, below 1% O₂ amount and 300-2000ppm CO. The optimized cogeneration hybrid system can meet the current NOx level and exhaust gas regulation and it will achieve the clean combustion gas and efficient cogeneration system.
