There is a growing need for energy conversion and expansion of renewable energy supply due to global warming concerns. The Korean government is also preparing plans and systems to reduce national greenhouse gases and expand the supply of new and renewable energy with the aim of achieving “2050 carbon neutral”. As a result, the supply of solar power generation facilities in large-scale rural areas is rapidly increasing, and the problem of resident acceptance in rural areas has emerged as a task. In particular, Dangjin City, the target area of this study, is operating a large-scale coal-fired power plant, so it is necessary to convert it into an eco-friendly renewable energy ecosystem. In addition, the project is being delayed due to a conflict between the residents and businesses preparing large-scale solar power generation facilities in salted farmland. Therefore, there is a need to grasp the perceptions and preferences of rural villagers for renewable energy. In this situation, this study is a method to secure resident acceptance through the participation of rural residents. Therefore, through this study, the Korean ESTEEM model, which is a communication manual for improving the acceptability of renewable energy, was applied, and an activity program in consideration of the characteristics of rural villages in Dangjin was formed to conduct education and activities. In addition, by conducting a face-to-face survey on resident acceptance of renewable energy, the effects before and after education were analyzed. As a result, it was found that the experimental group villages that received education in almost all items improved positively compared to the control villages that did not receive education. Renewable energy power generation projects are mainly corporate, but there is a limit to the government"s unilateral initiative. Therefore, it is suggested that when implementing renewable energy-related projects, it is necessary to first conduct education to secure the residents" acceptance of renewable energy considering the characteristics of rural villages.

Our humanity is facing a climate crisis and the role of a leader who will take the lead in solving this crisis is an important situation and the awareness of the leader"s energy transition when deciding and implementing such a policy is a problem. Currently each country and local governments are planning and promoting a number of policies on climate crisis response or energy conversion but there are many variations in leader"s perceptions of climate crisis or energy conversion and the level of difference is very large. In particular it is a problem in many cases where the energy conversion policy cannot be properly promoted in a timely manner while acquiring wrong information and knowledge and deciding and promoting policies with wrong judgment. Therefore it is very important to improve leader"s awareness of energy conversion. Responding to the climate crisis is a task of the times and it is a problem of human survival so it is difficult because it is not an option but an essential and must be solved. Therefore researching through literature questionnaire surveys and interviews in order to provide direction through objective research by investigating and analyzing these issues and instilling awareness in our society revealed that the leader"s perception is very important in promoting energy conversion policies. In addition through research it was proposed to improve the awareness of the leader"s climate crisis and energy conversion into the power of citizens by first improving the citizen"s consciousness to deliver accurate information and knowledge and to improve it through support projects etc. It is expected to be helpful in promoting this energy conversion policy.
