A Single-Stage Isolated Bidirectional AC-DC Converter for Super-Charger

In this paper, a single-stage four-phase interleaved totem-pole AC-DC converter is proposed for the super-fast charger station which requires high power, a wide voltage range, and bidirectional operation capabilities; adopts with various types of electric transport vehicles. The proposed topology is based on the current-fed push-pull DAB combined with the totem-pole operation. Due to the four-phase interleave effect, the bridge on the grid side can switch at 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 for achieving a ripple-free grid current. The input filter theoretically can be removed. The switching methods for duty of secondary side duty cycle are proposed, corresponding to the primary duty cycle for reducing the circulating power, and for handling the total harmonic distortion (THD). Thereby the converter can operate under a wide voltage range. Experimental results from a 7.5kW prototype are implemented to validate the proposed concepts.
