GIS based Landslide Susceptibility Prediction for Mt. Umyeon, Seoul

This preliminary study considers the landslide susceptibility prediction mapping for Mt. Umyeon using GIS as a basic analysis tool. Slope, aspect, geology and landuse have been selected as major landsliding parameters. Based on these factors, the landslide susceptibility prediction map is produced by both the pair-wise comparison method for the calculation of the weight of each parameter and the heuristic method for the weights of subclasses of the individual parameter. The existing landslide records are used to check the result of the landslide susceptibility prediction map. It is found that four landslides out of five are fallen into the very high and high susceptible areas and the other is in the moderate susceptible area, respectively.
