우리나라는 전통사회에서 근대를 거쳐 현대사회로 오며 가족의 구성, 가치, 의미, 태도 등에서 많은 변화가 이루어졌거나 겪고 있는 중이다. 그런데 사회와 문화는 언어와 밀접한 영향 관계에 있으므로, 가족의 변화는 한국어에 일정 부분 영향을 주었을 것이고 가족어휘에 반영되어 있을 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 이러한 변화의 예로 가족어휘가 혈연관계가 아닌 사회적 관계를 나타내는 호칭이나 지칭으로 쓰이는 경우, 전통적 가족어휘의 차별성에 대한 비판과 함께 새로운 가족어휘나 호칭어를 사용하며 가족 구성원으로 반려동물을 포함하는 인식이 확산되며 반려동물에게 사람 호칭어를 사용하는 경우 등을 들 수 있다. 본고에서는 한국어의 가족어휘에서 가족의 변화 양상을 찾아보고자 한다. 그런데 가족의 의미나 가치는 한민족의 것이므로, 한국어를 소통 수단으로 삼는 공동체의 가족어휘를 대상으로 연구한다. 구체적으로 남한, 북한, 연변의 언어를 대상으로 가족어휘 현황, 의미, 변화 양상 등을 비교한다. 그리고 한국어 공동체 내에서 전통적 가족어휘 중 일부 집단에서만 사용되거나 사전에 등재되어있을 뿐 잘 쓰이지 않는 것이 있고, 초개인화 시대의 1인 가족과 1자녀 가족 등이 늘어나며 새로운 가족어휘가 생겨나는 현상을 논의한다. Moving from the traditional society to the modern society, Korea has experienced many changes in the composition, value, meaning, and attitude of family. As the society and culture influence the language, it is predictable that such changes in family probably had some effects on Korean language, which would be reflected in the family lexicon. This thesis aims to seek for changes in family and Korean-style family view in the family lexicon of Korean language. As the meaning and value of family belong to the Korean people, the subject of this study is the family lexicon of communities using Korean language as the means of communication. There are the cases in which the family lexicon is used as title or designation meaning the social relationship instead of the blood relationship. With the criticism on the differentiation of traditional family lexicon, the new family lexicon or titles are used. Due to the spread of perception of including pet animals as family members, the titles for humans are used for pet animals. Concretely, this study compares the current status, meaning, and aspect of change of family lexicon targeting the languages of South Korea, North Korea, and Yanbian. And this study aims to examine the aspect of how the family relationships have been changed in the communities of Korean language, and how the Korean people think of family. Through this discussion, the aspect of change in family lexicon of Korean language could be summarized as follows. First, out of the traditional family lexicon, there are the words that are used only in some groups or the words registered in dictionary that are not used a lot. Second, with the increase of single-person family and single-child family in the super-individualization era, the new family lexicon is generated.
