초등환경교재『환이랑 경이랑 함께 가꾸는 초록 서울』 개발 및 환경소양도 검증

환경교육에 대한 인식이 크게 부각되면서 서울시와 서울시 교육청이 2009년에 개발한‘환이랑 경이랑 함께 가꾸는 초록 서울’교재는 정규 교과서와 연계하면서 5-10분 분량의 활동지 형태로 개발하여 활용도를 높이도록 하였다. 초등환경교재는 환경소양 증진을 위해 환경감수성, 환경적 지식 등 5개의 목표영역과 물, 대기 등의 8개의 내용영역을 정하여 영역 배치표를 만들고, 이에 따른 환경제재 개발표를 작성하여 개발하였다. 초등환경교재가 학생들의 환경소양도에 얼마나 기여했는지를 생태적 지식 등을 비롯한 8개의 환경 변인을 추출하여 설문 분석하고, 또한 교사들과 면담해 본 결과 환경소양도와 환경에 대한 관심에 미치는 영향이 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다. 향후 개발될 3-6학년용 초등환경교재는 1, 2학년용에 대한 설문조사와 면담 결과를 반영하여 학생들의 환경소양 증진과 민주시민자질 함양에 더욱 기여하도록 할 것이다. A teaching material for elementary school elementary ‘Green Seoul Hwan and Gyeong embellish together’ that Seoul si and Seoul Metropolitan Office Of Education developed together in 2009 is composed of worksheet with 5 - 10 minutes and it was designed to be closely connected with regular textbooks and has high utilization. The teaching material for elementary school environment consists of five target domain objectives such as environmental sensitivity and environmental knowledge etc. and eight content areas such as water and atmosphere etc. The teaching material for elementary school environment was developed by making area arrangement tables and environmental material development tables. A survey on how teaching materials for elementary school environment contributed to environmental literacy of elementary school students was conducted by drawing out eight environment variables including ecological knowledge. In addition, interviews were given to teachers for this study. The result of survey and interviews showed that teaching materials for elementary school environment has a great influence on student’s environmental literacy and interest in environment. It is advisable that teaching materials for elementary school environment targeting elementary school students of grade 3-6 to be developed should reflect the suggestion and result of survey for elementary school students of grade 1-2 and interviews of this study so that students can broaden environmental literacy and promote democratic citizen qualities.

본 연구의 목적은 사회과 의사결정에서 의사결정자의 가치 기준으로서‘인간 존엄성’의 한계를 살펴보고, 이를 극복할 수 있는‘지속가능성’을 제안하고 그 당위성을 살펴보는데 있다. 포스트 환경운동과 더불어 등장한 지속가능성의 문제는 21세기 글로벌 사회에서 지구를 하나의 단일한 유기적 생태계로 인식하면서 시민들의 삶의 양식을 규정하는 핵심 요소가 되고 있다. 근대의 이성이 만들어낸 유아론적 인식주체가 자연과 타자를 대상적 관계로만 보는 기존 사회체제의 작동 기제로는 인간의 자기 파괴로 인한 환경위기를 해결하지 못하기 때문에 포스트모더니즘, 생태론, 홀리즘과 같은 유기체적 관점을 가지는 기제를 통해 해결 방안을 모색하고 있다. 합리적 의사결정에 요구되는 가치 기준으로서의‘인간의 존엄’등은 인간중심을 벗어나지 못하는 한계점을 지닌다. 인간과 자연을 분리하고 도구적 대상연관으로만 보는 이원론 및 도구적 합리성이 아니라 인간 이외의 생명체도 윤리 공동체 안에 포함하면서 인간과 자연 간, 세대내 및 세대 간의 공생과 사회적 정의나 삶의 질을 고려할 수 있는 ‘지속가능성’이라는 가치 기준과 이의 하위 기준으로서 경제적, 사회적, 환경적 지속가능성이 요청된다 하겠다. The purpose of this study is to examine the limitation of ‘the dignity of man’ as value standard of decision maker in social decision making, to propose ‘sustainability’ to overcome this and to look at its justification. As the problem of sustainability emerged with the post environment movement recognizes the earth in 21st century global society as a single organic ecosystem, it has become a key element of regulating a form of life of citizens. Because the solipsistic subject of awareness made by the modern rationality does not solve the environmental crisis due to self-destruction of human with working mechanism of existing social system which sees the nature and subject only as a target relationship, it has been sought a solution through a mechanism that has a organic view such as the post-modernism, logic of ecology, and holism. ‘The dignity of man’ required in rational decision making as value standard has limitations which can not go against human-center. Not dualism and instrumental rationality which separate the human and nature and only see them as target relations, ‘sustainability’ which can consider the quality of life or symbiosis and social justice between the human and nature, or in generations and among generations including non-human creatures in ethics community and, as a sub-standard of this, economical, social, and environmental sustainability is requested.
