With the increasing interest in autonomous vehicles in the automotive industry, there has been a lot of research on vehicle steering systems. In fully autonomous technology, there is no driver control, so it is essential to develop an electrical signal processing device through sensors without mechanical connections such as U-joints. To meet this need, a lot of research is being done in the development of Steer by Wire (SBW). The SBW system consists of a Road Wheel Actuator (RWA) which steers the rack at the bottom of the vehicle at the driver’s will and a Steering Force Actuator (SFA) which appropriately provides a steering feel that changes depending on the driving environment. The SFA is in the cabin of the vehicle, close to the steering wheel, and often uses the same type of worm gear reducer as the EPS (Electric Power Steering). However, since the motor is located on the side of the system the package is unfavorable and there are many space difficulties to perform the storage function in the future, the development of a coaxial type of reaction force device which uses space efficiently and is very advantageous for the storage structure is attracting attention. This paper describes the research on the compactness of the column coaxial type reaction force unit, which was carried out to further reduce the size and increase the cost competitiveness, and the main design contents.

Purpose: This study was performed to obtain baseline information about the occupational and environmental medicine (OEM) residency programs in Korea. Methods: We surveyed 39 residents for the present training condition, satisfaction, vision of OEM, the condition and satisfaction after residency programs by self- administered questionnaire. Results: Residents want to get appropriate clinical and practical training to be a medical director in a factory or specialist of the occupational medicine based at a hospital. They report, however, that current system for OEM residency training program is not appropriate. The curricula, duration of the each curriculum, level of training hospital or institute need to be reconsidered. Conclusions: We need to develop more systematic residency program with support from government and OEM society.
