홍콩이 중국에 반환된 지 만 30년이 지났다. 홍콩은 경제적으로는 중국과 매우 긴밀하게 통합되었으나, 홍콩과 중국이, 특히 홍콩인과 중국인이 화학적으로 결합하지는 못한 것으로 보인다. 1997년 홍콩이 중국으로 반환되면서 영국을 비롯한 서방세계가 구축해놓은 기존 질서를 인정하는 ‘일국양제’는 중국에게 홍콩을 다른 성급 행정구역과는 달리 통치해야 하는 숙제를 안겨주었다. 2003년 이후 중국과 홍콩의 CEPA 체결과 지속적인 보충협정을 통한 경제교류 확대 노력은 실제로 중국과 홍콩 간의 경제 통합에 가장 큰 역할을 했다. 중국 정부가 의도했건 의도하지 않았건 간에 중-홍콩 CEPA는 홍콩에 대한 중국 정부의 가장 강력한 경제외교의 수단이 되었다. 하지만 홍콩시민들이 스스로의 정체성을 ‘중국인’으로 생각하는 비율은 2008년 이후 지속적으로 낮아졌다. 현재 홍콩과 중국 간의 경제교류에서 많은 부분에서 경제협력이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 홍콩이 중국 대륙으로 반환되어 30년이 지난 지금 ‘우산 혁명’과 같은 반중국화 현상이 벌어지고 있는 상황이다. 단지 이 혁명은 민주화의 요구만이 아닌 지금까지 경제성장의 불평등과 기타 청년들이 겪고 있는 취업에 대한 갈증만을 내포한다고도 볼 수는 없을 것이다. 이제 홍콩은 중국과 어떠한 결합을 통해 발전과 성장을 이루어내야 할 시기이다. 이에 끊임없는 외부 세력과의 결합으로 인해 무뎌질 수밖에 없는 홍콩만의 새로운 시대적 트랜드에 맞는 새로운 홍콩의 철학적 고찰이 대두되는 시대이고 토착적 사고방식을 넘어선 정체성의 변화를 모색해야할 시기이다. Thirty years have passed since Hong Kong returned to China. Hong Kong is economically very tightly integrated with China, but Hong Kong and China, especially Hong Kong and China, are not chemically combined. However, the proportion of Hong Kong residents who regard their identity as "Chinese" has continued to decline since 2008. At present, economic cooperation between Hong Kong and China is taking place in many areas. However, 30 years after Hong Kong returned to mainland China, anti-Chineseization phenomenon like "umbrella revolution" has happened. It can not be said that this revolution is not only a demand for democratization, but also the inequality of economic growth and the thirst for employment that young people are experiencing so far. According to the logic of capital, it is a matter of course, and the Chinese and Chinese capital will be the same. This, of course, would have implications for Hong Kong citizens about the continent they feel about China and their belief in democracy. Also, the complaints about China, which many Hong Kongers now feel, will not be limited to the inequality of economic growth. It is time for Hong Kong to achieve development and growth through any combination with China. The political offensive in the Chinese continent is expected to become stronger in the future for the Chinese government, and a sharp confrontation with the identity problem of Hong Kong indigenous forces will occur. It is time for a new Hong Kong philosophical review to meet the new trend of Hong Kong which is bound to be dulled by the unity of this external force and it is a time to seek change of identity beyond the indigenous way of thinking.
